Rosebud's tumor is still growing. Her teeth are too long again, too. Her ear has gotten a bit yeasty but cleaning it out twice a day seems to be helping and it isn't hurting her. She sits perfectly still while I clean it.

I wish I KNEW how long we have left.

And, I was offered a little rescue buck (or four, they have four..) and I am seriously considering taking one. Romeo is very old, and the two young bucks wouldn't mind another playmate.

They originated from a science project, and the owner found themselves overwhelmed. They have 4 bucks (I believe born last summer) who need new homes. If I get one, I will probably be taking the least "fancy" or otherwise "adoptable" one. They are living with the owner right now.

I'm considering breeding my rats, you guys. We have a really, really awful pet shop in our town (the only one that sells rats,) and I'm not sure I'll be buying more from there after I get my males. I also want to carry on the lineage of my first two. I know everyone's going to come jump on me for not using craigslist and rescuing rats and blah blah blah... but both of those aren't an option for me. I live in asia- no rat rescue centers or craiglist shipping.
Should I breed them, or no?

I really think you should read some stories people have about breeding, If yo're not breeding to improve them, then you really shouldn't be breeding, because you'll have excess rats... (I'd post a link to some stories, but Goosemoose is hating on me right now and the site won't open! >.<)

I was looking at a young blue hooded female earlier, but mom says five rats is too much..

I'm hoping I can talk her into it, though. using newspaper as -part- bedding has cut down on the cost a LOT, so a fifth rat should be affordable now.

I've already decided her name shall be Sailar (Si-lar) if I get her.

Wish me luck ♥ I should have new pictures up of ALL my babies within a week or so. They're all doing so much better now ^^

You aren't doing anything different to the pet shops, though, you're breeding a pet shop line.
What age are your rats now?
Breeding your first two rats is just selfish, sorry.
When I searched, I got results for craiglist asia and an asia rat rescue.

I don't think the rescue is anywhere near where I am.
And no, it's not selfish to be breeding my first two rats- my rats are one year old, and it's no different than the pet shop to be breeding them. My friend personally bred her rats and gave the litter to me- that's where they came from, not the pet shop.
