1. Bat Ears: Large in proportion to the head and up right. (Common in Chihuahua & Cardigan Welsh Corgi)
2. Button Ears: A small semi-erect ear with a front flap that folds forward nearly to the skull obscuring most of the ear canal. (Common in Jack Russell Terrier & Fox Terrier)
3. Blunt-Tipped or Rounded-Tipped Ears: Large, upright ears with blunted or rounded tips. (Common in Chow Chow & French Bulldogs)
4. Cropped Ears: Created by surgically cropping them shortly after birth so they stand up straight. (This is cosmetic surgery) (Common in Doberman & Great Dane)
5.Prick or Erect Ears: Sharp and pointed ears that stand erect. Can be natural or done by cropping. (Common in German Shepherd & Pomeranian)
6. Hooded Ears: Small ears that curve inwards from both edges. (Common in Basenji)
7. Cocked or Semi-Cropped or Semi-Prick Ears: An upright prick ear that folds over slightly at the tip. (Common in Rough Collie & Pitbull)
8. Candle Flame Ear: Specific ear type of the English Toy Terrier breed.
9. Rose Ear: A small drop ear that folds backwards. (Common in Greyhound & Bulldog)
10. Filber-Shaped Ear: An unusual shape to find and named because the ears have the shape of a hazel nut or filbert. (Almost exclusively found in the Bedlington Terrier)
11. Folded Ear: Pendant ears that hang in folds rather than hanging flat. (Common in Bloodhound & Field Spaniel and Golden Retriever)
12. Drop or Pendant Ear: Can be expressed in a variety of shapes & lengths and specifies only that the ear hang down from their junction with the side of the head. (Common in Basset Hound & Skye Terrier)
