Bear snorted and limped away from the two. He should've known Kite was in a pack! It would never worked between them. Never work between them? What was he thinking? He was being crazy today! He laid down in the grass and put his head on his paws. He was still within earshot of the others, but he wasn't listening very closely.

Kite smiled "Whatever Jace." she told him and pawed his face with her good paw.

Jace smiled but then it dropped when he smelt something on her "Kite why do you smell like you've been with a male and one thats not in the pack?" he asked a growl slipping at the end.

Kite gulp Dang it!!! she thought to herself as she slowly stood up and watched him closely "I was not." she said hoping to drop it but knew Jace wouldnt. Jace would of been fine with her being with a male from the pack but not a rogue or a loner.

Jace growled at her "Dont lie, I can smell his scent on you." he said walking towards her "Who is it?" he asked in a growl.

Bear heard little bits and pieces of their conversation and caught them saying, "You've been with a male," "I have not," and "Don't lie, who is it?" Bear stood up again and crept closer to Kite and the wolf. He tried to stay downwind, but the breeze changed direction again, so he had to move. He hoped he could get around to the other side before they caught scent of him. He limped faster.

Kite stepped back away from him "Hes a really good friend." she said knowing that if she lied again he might bite her ear which she did not like unless it was a playful one.

Jace stopped and watched her "Oh really, are you sure!" he growled.

Kite looked at him, not knowing what to say. She was in love with Bear but didnt know if he felt the same. She just stared at Jace thinking.

"Well, What is he?" Jace growled again and stepping closer to her.

Bear growled and stepped out of the trees in front of Jace. "He is right here. And you aren't getting near her. She didn't do anything wrong." He snarled angrily.

Jace looked at Bear and raised an eyebrow "So your the one trying to steal my sister away?" he asked in a growl as he turned towards him.

Kite looked at Bear and whine slightly "Bear no, I can handle this." she whispered to him.

Bear swiveled one ear towards Kite, but he never took his eyes off Jace. "I wasn't stealing her away! I was just...We met in the river earlier and we became friends. That's all. Friends. She helped me when a stupid buck attacked me and she must've got my scent on her. Nothing else."

Kite sighed inwardly and died a little inside. She looked down at the ground, she was right. He didnt feel the same like she did. She held back all the emotion that fill her head and looked up at Jace.

Jace looked at him then at Kite for the truth, she nodded to him. He looked back at Bear and nodded "Then since your just friends you can not see her ever again unless you join the pack." he growled.

"What?! No!" Bear's eyes widened and he looked at Kite. He saw her expression and looked at the ground. Then he growled and limped around Jace. He sent one more sad glance in Kite's direction before he said, "I'll...... Go check with my brother." He ran on three legs towards River, following his scent through the trees until he found him with Tundra.

River looked up, surprised, when his brother showed up. "Bear? What're you doing?!"

Bear took a deep breath and said, "River, I want us to join the pack. Jace's pack."

River remembered Tundra's words about Jace and the pack being ones to avoid, and he looked up at Tundra. Her scars were created by Kaze, a pack member. He walked over and stood next to Tundra. "No, Bear. Kaze was the one who put those scars on her face, and he's in Jace's pack. She didn't deserve it, I know for sure. Jace is cruel and unfair, and I'm not getting anywhere near him. Ever. I'm staying with Tundra."

Kite watched him go then looked at Jace "You know i really hate you right now." he said a like growl enter her voice.

Jace rolled his eyes "You will get over it." he said then sat down and waited for bear.
