"Ooh, there's one!" I said eagerly, pointing to a McDonald's. "C'mon, let's go!" I began to walk faster, heading to the restaurant.

Alex looked up in awe at the large menus screen thing. If he were in an anime his eyes would be huge and sparkly and he'd be slightly drooling (LOL!)

If it wouldn't have been awkward, I might've held her hand. Of course, it WAS awkward, so I didn't. Instead, I shoved my hands in my jacket pockets.

My amine face would've done the same thing, I guarantee it. Finally, I ordered for myself, "Two Big-Macs, a large lemonade
and French fries."

"well, if the motel's so far away...wanna hail a cab, save us some time?" Audrey asked.

"50 piece chicken nuggets, a strawberry banana smoothie, and a large order of fries." Alex said, as normally as possible.

I nodded. "Sure. But there's probably no taxis in the middle of nowhere." I spread my arms wide, gesturing to the wide, open space around us. There were a few plants scattered here and there, mostly trees.

:Reagan:

I laughed softly. "Hungry much?" then I turned to the bewildered cashier, who was trying to make calculations in her head for 50 chicken nuggets. "Just a Number 2 with no pickles, thanks." the cashier punched in the order on the machine in front of her and nodded.

"That'll total to about..." she squinted at the cash register, then straightened her back again, looking at me. "That'll be $76.97, ma'am."

My eyes widened. "Say what?"

The girl repeated the total and I glanced at Zoey and Alex. Then I pulled out my leftover cash that sat in my sneaker, and handed the cashier the exact amount. She eyed me suspiciously, but didn't ask why I had money in my shoe.
