Wacom Tablet

Postby horseandcat » Sun Dec 04, 2011 5:01 pm

I'm thinking of getting a drawing tablet for christmas. I was looking into Wacom's bamboo and intuos4 tablets, and I was wondering which would be the best. As well, I use linux, and was wondering if it would work with it. As well, If it wouldn't any other brand ideas?

Thanks!

I use a Wacom bamboo tablet for my art and I find it great. But I haven't used any other type of tablet before so I can't compare it to anything. But it's a really good tablet, and I use mine with Photoshop.

I like my small intuos4, though the pen nibs and replacement parts can be a bit costly (but still not that much). I haven't really used a bamboo tablet a lot, but I have friends that do and they work just fine. The pressure system on the intuos4 is better in my opinion and creates very smooth lines, and is better for detailed work. There are also more pen types (airbrush/etc) versus the bamboo. In my opinion it's worth upgrading.

Hope that helps!

I'm also looking for a drawing tablet that works with Linux, though try looking on Wacom's site for a tablet.
