"Valeria! Get down here, NOW!" Joy shrieked up the stairs, fuming.
Daisy sighed. "What did you do this time?" She asked her sister, who was sitting next to her.
Valeria blinked at her innocently. "I have no idea what you're talking about." She said evenly, but the twinkle in her eyes said otherwise.
Joy burst into the room, her fur not only a mess, but bright red. "YOU PUT DYE IN MY SHAMPOO!!!!!" She screamed. "YOU ARE DEAD, WOMAN!"
Valeria leapt off of the bed and dashed past her sister and into the hallway, laughing her head off.
Daisy sighed and hurried after them, knowing she would have to break it up before anything was destroyed. To her shock, the door was open and Valeria was crouched on the roof yelling taunts at Joy.
"Valeria! Get off the roof, you could hurt yourself!" Daisy commanded her. "And Joy, keep your voice down, the whole neighborhood can hear you!"
Joy promptly shut up, but Valeria didn't relent, continuing to call obnoxiously down at her sister. Valeria stormed inside, and Daisy was left to deal with her other little sister.
"Val, you need to stop picking on Joy." Daisy sighed. "Honestly, you're 17, you need to act your age."
"So do you, Daze." Valeria said, sounding sincere. "You're only 22, but you act 54 sometimes."
"Gee, thanks." Daisy chuckled.
Valeria relaxed, and that was when her foot slipped.
Daisy wasn't fast enough.

"Is she going to be alright?"
The doctor smiled at Joy. "She'll be just fine. She broke a few bones, and has a pretty severe concussion, but as long as she doesn't strain herself, she'll recover."
Daisy was relieved to hear that Valeria's fall hadn't paralyzed her, but she also knew that keeping Val inside and resting for two weeks as the doctor had suggested wasn't going to go over well with the other girl.
Joy had already vanished into her older sister's room, but Daisy decided to walk around a bit. She was still shaking from Val's accident, and needed a chance to calm down.
She didn't really pay attention to where she was going, and ended up running into a young man around her age.
"Oh, I'm sorry." She apologized, helping him up. "I wasn't paying attention. Are you alright?"
He grinned. "I'll live." He then chuckled, as if he had told an amazing joke.
Daisy raised an eyebrow but made no comment.
"I'm Vito." He introduced himself, holding out his hand.
Daisy shook it easily. "Daisy."
That was the first time she met him. And it was the best mistake she ever made.

"Hey Val."
Valeria glanced up at her sister tiredly. "'Sup?" She greeted. It was clear she was still a little high on the drugs they had used during the surgery to put the metal rod in her leg.
Joy grinned, glad that her sister seemed fine, if a little woozy. "Not much. My fur is red. Daisy is off in la-la land. You fell off a roof. Same-old, same-old."
Valeria managed to laugh. "Sounds fun. Invite me next time."
"Hey, keep it down over there!" A voice snapped from the other side of the curtain.
Valeria moaned in annoyance. "My roommate's... visitor." She explained sourly. "He's a doosh."
Joy nodded. "He sounds dooshy."
"I can hear you ya know."
Suddenly a softer voice sounded behind the curtain that parted the two halves. "Chill Ryan. Let them be."
A grumble, but 'Ryan' didn't complain again as the two girls continued chatting.
That was the first time Valeria saw him. And to this day she regrets ever climbing onto that roof.

Daisy seemed different when she and Joy left the hospital later that day.
"Hey, you alright? You didn't pick something up, did you?" Joy asked worriedly.
Daisy laughed. "Nothing life-threatening." She said, then chuckled as if at a joke.
Joy frowned at the way her older sister was acting. It was... out of character. Daisy was the studious, scholarship-type of girl, not a giggly, secret-keeping one. Not that Joy minded. In fact, it was nice to see Daisy relaxed for once.
"So, we met this really snobby boy who's Val's roommate. The guy's a total dooshbag."
"Don't say things like that."
Joy laughed. "But it's true!" She insisted.
The two tossed meaningless small-talk back and forth for the rest of the walk home.
Joy paused at the grocery store, suddenly remembering that they were out of her favorite granola bar.
"I guess you can get a couple, but not to much." Daisy agreed reluctantly, handing over a 20$
Joy bounced into the store, grinning. When she got to the aisle, another teen was already there... grabbing the last of her granola bars!
Joy strode up to him, pissed. "Hey, I wanted one of those." She said, getting into the boy's face.
He shrugged. "Well, I got here first, so you'll just have to deal."
Joy's eyes narrowed, and she reached out and grabbed two of the bars from his grasp then strutted off, ignoring his shocked expression.
"That'll show you." She grumbled. "I hope I never see that moron again."
That was Joy's first impression of him. It was amazing how easily her mind was changed.
So yeah, this is my attempt at a beginning. *Fail* Anyway, I have a really good idea how each of these are going to play out, but I want to make sure people would actually be interested in reading the rest. So... thoughts?
this was amazing, nice work =3
