Stanza yawned and pulled herself up, streching out until a small pop in her back agreed that it was awake and useful again. She blinked her eyes several time before starting out of camp, her belly round. She was eager to hunt; but knew she was close.

stanza dragged a small eke into the camp, growling. Her ears were laid back as she left it in camp, and started to clean away the doe's blood. When she had finished, she felt the first kick, and snorted again, quietly. She looked up at Phantom before moving for a den.

Ashantee was silent as she stood up. She tossed the bear outside and then grabbed the moss, pulling on it. It blanked out the front of the cave and only small particles of light remained from the holes in the top of the den--small holes. She walked over to him and brushed her fur against his.

Stanza poked her head out of the den, looking at Phantom. She yipped softly for him with a mysterious smile before disappearing inside again.
Four pups lay beside Stanza's tan belly, nursing in stiff silence.
