On December 18th every year there's a gift you can adopt three times. It gives you three pets from any of the previous years - last year it was '08 and '09 pets, this year it'll probably include '09 and '10 pets, '08s if we're lucky.
I struck gold last year and got a Red Queen dog, which is apparently an uncommon occurance, hoping to have the same luck this year~

You got two pets. And Malk had a box, too. Also with two pets. IDK about previous to 2010, but that is how it was in 2010.

No, it was two. But there was also a Malk box, so that made it 4 total.
