What are your goals as an author?: Honestly? Just to finish a book, have people like it, and maybe find a literary agent to help me. They don't get enough credit >.>
Can you give us a sample of your writing? I'll try to find something clean C:
I Fly To Survive; near the end of the second chapter wrote:My head cocked to the side, focusing on the man standing before Ellis. Jane had said before someone was here to get me, and yet I had not a single clue who the tall figure was; I felt like I should.
Ellis seemed just as focused on him as I was. Her eyes stayed locked on his in a matter, yet her mouth moved quickly in an almost frantic way, as if they could not let the words of the story escape quick enough. Her hands moved in front of her, helping the words explain faster. She was completely entranced, though he seemed quite bored.
The connection dropped on his side, though she kept looking at him, even attempting at regaining his concentration by reaching out to lightly grasp his arm. He eyes locked on mine, and I immediately straightened from my slouch. I still was almost sure I had never seen the man, clad in a graphite business suit, before in my short-lived life. He seemed vaguely familiar, how he had stared at Ellis in such an annoyed and disapproving way. Much like...
A name slid onto the tip of my tongue, not yet ready to register with my brain, which rendered useless. His eyes were a deep blue, seeming to ripple as I watched, now understanding why Ellie hadn't been able to stand when he looked away. From the corner of my eye I saw her, now slightly frantic, pulling on his sleeve.
Replacing that and all other sight, I suddenly pictured the new man falling into a large ocean, no land available but another male, older, racing towards him. The older one seemed to be crying out, yet he was silent and helpless as he plummeted down towards the sea. A mass of feathers surrounded him, and metal wires protruded from his back, covered in melted wax.
The picture snapped away when he hit, water drops spreading around him and pulling him down. Finally, I received the name with a giant gasp of air, and my hand reached up to cover my mouth.
"I...Icarus." I stumbled over the simple name, and Ellis's head snapped to look at me. Both of them had an eyebrow raised, Ellis from disbelief, and Icarus from wonder.
"Oh, so I take you remember me, dear bird." He whispered, walking towards me and holding out his arm. "Come. It's time to bring you back to the water." His voice was tempting, seducing me to go with him.
"Mina...Who..." Ellis said, until Icarus calmly looked over at her, and she walked out of the front room without another word.
Bit longer than a paragraph, but... ^^'
Are you currently working on any books?: Tons. My most current one is I Fly To Survive, but I'm also working on Misanthrope; The Black Roses; Find Me; Even, or Odd?; The Adventures of Yawning; and that's basically it. A few others, unnamed.
Why do you want to join?: I would really love a community of authors to talk to, I often lose track or muse, so I feel as if this would help me.
Do you have published books yet? Or dearies no ._.
Do you wish to find a "writing partner"? I don't know. I feel as if depending on someone else would crash and burn.
