"well, uh, sorta...i remember being a mixture of angry and scared. angry at those black suited bozos for taking my only friend, and scared that they might actually succeed. i was also afraid of being alone in a place i didn't know." Alex explained.

Audrey looked up at the beautiful orange leaved trees planted in various places around the city, the wind gently blowing her hair to one side. "Beautiful season, autumn." she said, without taking her eyes off the bright blue sky.

:Zoey:

I listened intently, then squinted, thinking. After a second, I looked up again. "I have an idea. Now. Close your eyes and think about those emotions."

:Andrew:

I nodded in agreement and watched silently as the wind blew Audrey's hair back. "Yeah." Stop it, Andrew, you big idiot! my mind screamed.

Alex nodded and shut his eyes tightly.

Audrey looked down. "so..."

:Zoey:

I watched him carefully, searching his face.

:Andrew:

"Um, what's your favorite song?" random but simple- it'd work.

"Boats and Birds by Gregory and the Hawk. What's yours?"

Alex's expression was as expected: angry and scared. he felt his hands get warm and a small fireball began to form.

:Zoey:

I kept quiet, not wanting to interrupt. A small fireball began to come alive in his palm and I watched in wonder.

:Andrew:

I'd never heard of the song, but I smiled. "Pretty much anything by Green Day."

"Green Day? Hm...may have heard a song or two." Audrey said.

The fireball grew. Alex's eyes flew open, he outstretched his arms and the fireball shot from his hands.

Quickly, I barely managed to dodge the fireball as it shot from Alex's hands. Reagan ducked to the ground and it missed her as well. I turned to Alex, my eyes full of wonder. "That...was so cool!"

:Andrew:

"Really? Cool." I smiled.

Alex stared at his hands. "I...I actually DID THAT! that was SO AWESOME!"

Audrey returned his smile. "ever heard of a group called Lady Antabellum?" she asked.

I laughed, then said seriously, "You know, it gets easier to control with practice. Just don't set us on fire." it was half a joke, half not. Hey, I didn't wanna go up in flames, thank you very much.

:Andrew:

I nodded. "Yeah, I've heard of 'em."
