((He can be a headache for Blue if you want, ET, Jay. Accepted, as long as when you kill off Kat it is in a dramatic, plot influencing way. Think you can do that for me? Onegai?))
With a scared whimper, a small child, about seven or so, backed away into a shadowed corner of the concrete room. Strangers were wandering in off the streets, and the fact that any people were in this part of town after curfew wasn't a good sign. ((Heck, it isn't a good sign during the day!))
"Don't kill me policemen! I didn't hurt anyone..." he murmured with well-feigned innocence as he cowered back into the packing crates. "I'm sorry...."
The apology wasn't to the strangers, but they had no way of knowing that. Deliberately mistepping, he was knocked off balance by a segment of copper piping. And with that, the amber-haired child fell into a nearby stack of cardboard boxes, and then, into an underlying hole. His scant frame easily slipped through the web of tangled wires, and he fell headlong into the darkness, knowing the broken floor was above the larger underground storage rooms. It would be a long fall.... he thought, a wry smile on his face, as if some twisted logic gave him happiness. A scream pierced the air, full of terror, and was quickly whipped upward from the boy's mouth by the wind.
With the sub-three level quickly approaching, he sighed. Fawn-coloured wings snapped out to a full length, and he glid to a silent stop near an almost-empty room. 'It would have fed many....' he though regretfully before pushing over a sack of flour, then, seconds later, a barrel of liquid, the only remains of the old food stash. Light footsteps made no sound as he ran through the tunnel in the wall. It would lead to the abandoned subway station, then to safety at the foot of his orphanage's iron gates. He would come back only once more, he resolved, to see if everyone makes it, but deep in his heart he doubted he would ever find the gang again.
((Yay for random unnamed filler character #1! Say hi! Now, you'll never see him again. Congrats.))
