Hollypool purred. "They're my first litter."

Rosethorn smiled, "And they will make you proud!" She giggled.

Hollypool nodded. "I hope so." Her eyes clouded. "My brother, mother and father are all dead now. Their father can't get around much, so they're all I have."

Cherrystream went back into the nursery and lied down. She felt tired, and she'd barely done anything that day.

Tidepaw bounced around happily.

Rockfire nosed Cherrystream. "All right?"
