Well, yes, that's horrible trade, but see the message:

Im pretty sure UFA is Up For Adoption...I was no sure so we will see how it goes I guess

This is why if I ever have pets up for auction... I'm going to put "UFA (Up For Auction)" since I also had a moment like that (though thankfully, I figured out what it meant before I did a silly move like that).
