Oh hai! I'm comet (obviously) and I am looking for a good RP partner. I need someone who is decently literate though and gets on pretty regularly. I'm a fan of human hybrid role-plays the most but I'll RP pretty much anything in any genre. I'll play girls or boys, humans or animals. In all, I just want someone who can keep up with me XD. Here is a sample of my writing.
The young woman stood at the foot of the Residence Hall steps, waving as she watched her mother's rental car disappear over the horizon. Finally she was alone and free. She had long brown hair that was riddled with streaks of red, eyes that flashed bright green in the sunlight and dark brown in the shade, and her skin was tanned the light brown of someone used to being outdoors. Usually there was an unspoken air of confidence about the tall teen, but today her body was tense with nervous stress. It had been a long last few days for Lyra Brooks. Brushing a few tears from the corners of her eyes, she turned and walked into her new home, Yavapai Residence Hall. Her mother hadn't been much help in the whole moving in process, but she was the last link that she had to her old life. From here on out, every thing would be a new thing. Everything would be unfirmiliar. And if she was being honest, Lyra would have admitted that she was more than a little nervous.
From the very moment that Lyra had walked through the main entrance of The University of Arizona, she had wanted to go there. Aside from the fact that it had one of the best creative writing programs out there, it was quite simply the most beautiful place she had ever seen. To the Ohioan teen it looked like an expensive island resort available to only the richest and most important of people. There were palm trees lining every walkway, all the buildings were made of vibrantly red sandstone blocks, the campus was surrounded by a massive desert mountain range, and the sun seemed to never stop shining. Oh yes, the north-western Ohioan fell in love with the desert almost immediately. Not even the constant 110 degree heat bothered her overmuch! However, to every good thing there must be a bad. Because Lyra was an out-of-state resident, she was forced to wait until the very last orientation session to take care of the mountains of stuff that she had to take care of. Everything from her meal plan, banking plans, books, class registration, school shopping, and club sign-ups had to wait until a week before her actual classes started. Needless to say, she had felt a little overwhelmed. But, being a Brook, she flowed through the hoops and got everything set up. And now, finally, she had completed the final task of becoming a wildcat; she moved into her dorm.
Flopping down on the bottom of the bunk-bed that she and her roommate had been given, Lyra heaved a weary sigh and massaged her temples. "Long week huh?” her roommate Kate commented with an empathetic smile. "You have no idea! At least you're from Arizona and don't have to wait until the last second to deal with all the unneeded crap they make everyone deal with!” Lyra vented. "And you already know people here. I don't know a single soul in this whole freakin state!" Kate just laughed and gave her a sly wink. "Don't worry about that. I'll soon have you the most popular girl on campus!...except for me of course." Lyra groaned. She didn't like the sound of that. In highschool, she had never been the popular type. In fact, she had always been one of those "stay at home all day and read in bed" types. "Actually...", she murmured, "I think I'll just chill here tonight...". "Oh no you don't!", Kate exclaimed. "There's a freshmen get-together tonight at the student union and you and I are so there!" Lyra's blonde-haired roommate tossed her head dramatically and batted her eyelashes in the mirror. "Who knows! Maybe we will even get to hook up with some good looking guys there!" Lyra rolled her eyes and shook her head. This would be interesting.
An hour later Lyra found herself walking towards student union with her surprisingly stubborn roommate by her side. No matter how hard she tried, she just couldn't convince Kate that she would rather sit around reading or playing World of Warcraft instead of picking up boys. However, when she had flatly refused Kate's offer of a short mini-skirt and revealing top in favor of jeans and a T-shirt, the short blonde had merely rolled her eyes and kept moving. At least she understood that there was no way in heck that she was putting on skimpy outfits or makeup. But despite her roommate's radically different tastes, Lyra did appreciate her willingness to hang with her. Not knowing anyone or having anybody to hang out with had always been Lyra's main fear about going to a far-away college. But she had wanted to escape Ohio, and so she had. Whether or not she would regret it in the end remained to be seen.
"Alright! Let's get this party started!" Kate said as they walked into the gaming room of the student union. Spaced evenly throughout the room there were tables meant only for sitting and eating. Along one wall there was a buffet- style line of food, but it was clear that the games where the main attraction. There were arcade games lining all the other walls, at least ten pool tables scattered throughout the main hall, and at least twice the number of ping pong tables. "They like ping pong here much?", Lyra yelled over the blaring music. "Only when it involves alcohol!" Kate replied with a wink.
Suddenly the blonde's gaze locked on a tall, muscular looking boy across the room. The moment the pair's eye's met Kate glided over to him, swinging her hips the whole way. Lyra sighed and walked to the nearest vacant table, sitting down in one of the chairs. So much for Kate's company. Lyra might have gone over and chatted to muscle-boy with her but she knew how those situations went down. She would end up standing there awkwardly while Kate and whatshisname flirted and made goo goo eyes at each other. Lovely. Sitting back in the chair, Lyra simply watched the meandering throng of freshmen students, wondering how long she would sit until she was drawn back to the safety of her dorm room.
So yeah. Thats how I write. If anyone is interested then shoot me a PM! Have a happy thanksgiving!
