Reaper watched Caxx with an unwavering expression, occasionally flicking an ear due to the flies. He looked coldly at Ash's bloody body, completely uncaring. It didn't phase him at all. Occasionally he would flash back to the premarin farm but those disturbing memories no longer haunted him in the extent they did back then. He exhaled a bit in exasperation, hating to wait any longer.

Aware of the bird, I dropped to my hooves and closed my eyes, waiting. When the blue jay had disappeared, my mind began to swim. Tell me a tale, tell me a story. Where the birds are blue and the skies are pink. Where the jays are blue and the sunsets are pink. It was what we horses used to have to gallop to. The Wild Ones would chant as we cooked, rode, fought, dressed, etc. No matter where they were, you could hear the faint traces of their chant on the wind.

I looked at Rain. "Sorry, memories," I explained. "They just don't go away." I nuzzled her gently, and my feelings were confirmed. I loved this mare, a lot.

My moment of weakness was gone. I approached the other horses, and within seconds my hooves had left a deep, deep gash in the side of one of the mares we were against. I was breaking all the rules of fighting. I was taking the first move.

"Yep. They never go away." Riversong agreed, thinking that whatever you did, both good and bad memories stayed. She nuzzled the stallion, running her muzzle through his thick mane. Deeply, she breathed in his masculine scent, getting used to it.

Reaper saw Caxx attack. He knew now the fight was on. He locked his eyes on Vela again with a maniacal smile. "You're mine once again!" He yelled insanely and lunged at the mare with a raw untamed ferocity he had kept hidden for far too long.

Rain sighed. "At least I'm not that eager to fight." She said, meaningfully eyeing the attacking mare and stallion. "I would yell 'charge' but that's pretty old school." The mare murmured, breaking into a canter, heading for the other mares.

Parousia nodded in agreement. "My brother has had too long of a hiatus from bloodshed. I just hope it's not too gory or anything to relapse him. But anyways, I guess it can be so. Charge!" he called and cantered after Caxx, Reaper and Rain while his children brought up the rear.

I was on the ground, unmoving. I couldn't move, and breathing was becoming hard. Yet I still managed to drag myself into the water while the other horses were distracted. I managed to survive. As I laid in the shallow water, felt it lap at my sides, I couldn't help but think of what Pozar must be doing. My breath caught in my throat as I fought back a sob.

Eyes narrowed, I cantered to Parousia. I reared, bringing my hooves crashing down on his back, but gentler than I had with Ash; I wasn't on a killing spree, here.
