I promised you a story.
So here it is.
The story you were promised.
Because promises must be kept...

where is he where is he where is he
She walked briskly along the pavement, her throat tight with fear. The moon was high in the sky, wisps of cloud drifting across it. It was a beautiful sight, really, but she did no more than glance at it as she rushed along. Her lantern was held high, lighting her path for a few metres ahead.
And then she saw it. The cold glint of eyes, watching her, waiting for her.
It was him.
She dropped the lantern, letting it clatter to the ground, and fled. Her pale hair flew back from her face, falling across her blue eyes, wide with fear. She turned on to a path in to the forest, her feet churning up dirt and grass in her haste. Glancing behind her, her heart froze as she saw his pale golden eyes disappear.

She turned back just as he dropped from the trees ahead of her. She skidded to a halt and backtracked, rushing down a side path. Her white cloak fell from her shoulders as she spread her wings, panic causing her to act without thinking. She rose into the air, then caught her wing on a branch and fell.

She almost cried out with relief when she spied a small opening in the rocks to the side of the path. She threw herself in, curling up into a tight ball.

He dropped down in front of the cave, his form blocking out the moonlight. All she could see were his eyes. She closed her own tightly, breathing heavily.
"What's the matter, Alura? Not pleased to see me? I expected more of a welcome," he said. His black wings opened, impossibly huge next to her own.
"Please, Shadow, just leave me be," she whispered.
His voice grew cold. "You know I can't do that, Alura. You promised me. You swore."
Alura said nothing, just shuddered and closed her eyes tightly.
"And now you're going to fulfill the promise." His voice broke as Alura refused to respond. "I thought... I thought you loved me."
Her eyes opened and met his.
"I always loved you, Shadow," she managed. "But you... changed."
"I can change back."
"It's too late. I'm sorry."
There was a pause. When he spoke, his voice was thick with emotion. "Your promise. One night. And then I'll leave you. I swear."
A single tear rolled down her cheek as he pulled her up. His wings wrapped them both...

Floodlit, chiffron leaves
Pastels of amber blight
Autumn shadows upon eaves
Falls chocolate swirls of light

Copper tints of tree bark
Branches gilded gold
Ground gift wrapped with cellophane
Umber colors now unfold

Snow bleached lily-white with winter,
Scenery tinted blue,
Winters creeps upon us fast,
As seasons often do.

Everything will leave and change
Abandon past solace,
The frozen touch so cold, so strange-
Frost that withers autumns face.

The clock is turning faster,
Ticking at falls sweet days.
Of caramel hues and colors
Emerges whites and grays.

Kaleidoscopes of orange and red,
Filtered flecks of yellow.
Icicles and storm ahead,
Shifting leaves below.

Mirrors of rain chase fall away
Another year - another day
The sky a cast of dreary gray
So turns to ash this warm array.

I'll give you one last parting wish
To please always remember
My beloved, I'll return to you
Awake me in September.

Hehe, thanks, it didn't really have that much of a plot... But then again, none of my stories on here do XD
