I looked at her. "I am Dancing Delgato, but I go by Del or Delgeto. I am also proud to be from the land of Spain, amigo. Who might you be?" I paused my speech to look down at her, the feathers and beads clinking irritatingly. Shut up! I thought. You're ruining my big moment, you imbecile beads! Then my eyes widened. Uh-uh. I did NOT just talk to some beads! And call them stupid! I'm going insane! My eyes sparkled with hidden laughter.

Reaper was locked onto Vela. He was ready to get this on. His jaws snapped in anticipation of the kill again. His eyes growing wilder with pent up insanity every passing minute. He wanted blood but he knew he couldn't start it. It was his brother's fight and he was only invited for the fun.
After hearing an indignant whinny, he looked over irritated at a mare a bit aways but upon seeing her, he immediately laced on the charm. He saw the gore on her face and that hot-headed attitude that just drove him wild in a mare. He smiled and nickered back to her sweetly. "Just the local herd about to get into a bloodbath. Nothing to worry over. In fact, it might provide a bit of fun to this place again."

A smile threatened to pull me into it's arms, but I resisted. "Sounds . . . what's the word? . . . fun, doesn't it?" I stepped closer, my voice dropping lower. I liked this stallion, but I didn't know what I was doing. "I can help." I licked my lips and this time, I did smile.

Reaper's smile grew a little more wicked at the sound of her help. He looked over at Parousia who was giving him a stern look, blatently saying no, but he ignored his uptight brother and nodded to the mare. "I'd be delighted," he said and bumped Athena and Devarian a bit, sending the universal uncle signal of get the heck outta here and go stand with your father.

"My name's Riversong." Riversong said, feeling slightly plain at having no large fancy name. But she knew she made up for her name with spirit. "I was born just outside of Utasia." She carried on, then stopped speaking, a touch of confusion in her dark eyes.

Delgato

"Señorita, are you okay? You seem a bit . . . out of it. Maybe you need . . . rest?" Oops. There goes my big chance: I called her señorita instead of Riversong! Gah. The language of these . . . Utasians is really weird. I mean, do they actually use each other's names when they talk together? We use ma'am, miss, and m'lady for mares and sir for stallions of geldings. These horses are a bit odd.

I snapped out of it and looked her in the eyes. "That's a beautiful name." I took a step closer, and if I stretched my neck by an inch, I could touch her. "It suits you, since you like as beautiful as it is." Yikes. Not sure if that was a good idea, but it was true.

I touched the stallion's shoulder. Ash was walking over, and judging by her attitude toward me, she wanted to kill us. "Reaper," I hissed. "There's a weak one coming over. She looks like she's interested."

"Leave them alone!" I heard her cry. I laughed menacingly, and my eyes danced like two flames, the little sparks charring my heart continuously.

"Oh no, but that would spoil the fun, wouldn't it?" I asked. "And anyway, y'all look too delicious." I wasn't a cannibal, but I was a carnivore, so maybe horse meat wouldn't be so bad. I wasn't eager to try, though.

"Yes, I'm fine." Riversong answered. She allowed herself a smile at the compliment. "And thank you." The mare nickered softly. Feeling a little small, she drew her head back and arched her neck to see Delgato's face when he moved closer. "You're not too bad looking yourself," she smiled, seeking to take some of the serious edge off the conversation.

"Thank you," I said. She was so kind; I just hoped I wouldn't ruin everything. I smiled back at her, and I pawed the ground lightly.

"You're welcome." Riversong chanced another smile. She was now fully conscious of the fact that she wasn't exactly in peak condition. Her ribs were showing slightly; winter hadn't been kind to this mare.

she started licking his side
