ok, i dont mean to make a huge deal out of this but... EOWYN IS AWESOME!! i think shes so cool because shes not one of those women who just stands back and lets the men get all the glory. shes willing to fight for rohan! and my favorite scene out of ALL OF THE MOVIES is when she stabs the witch king! shes all like "i am no man! arrrrrrgh!!" sorry to make a mountain out of an anthill i just had to say something... not hating against arwen shes awesome as well but i like strong female characters.

Yeah, Eowyn is pretty cool. But in the movie whenever she stares, she gets this weird "fish face." Well, thats what I call it. But yeah, I just think Arwen is the best female character. I wish she had a bigger role... Like I said before, it's so sweet how she gave up her immortality for Aragorn, even though she suffered so much pain and nearly died. But the best character is LEGOLAS!!! He so smexy!!!!!

Eh, Arwen is good, but Eowyn is AWESOME! Arwen's thing with Aragorn is a little sweet, but sometimes it's just like "Get a room!"

Omg(little late) but I also have friend who think HP is way better than LOTR. And I'm starting to wonder if shes sane.

And I also like Eowyn better than Arwen, and yes, they do need to get a room.

yea. i like it when arwen stands up to elrond about what she wants to do with the rest of her life, but she is always acting like aragorn is the only reason for her to live. it is sweet that she cares about him so much but she needs to realize that she is the one in control of her life. and eowyn is such a strong leader. she is my overall favorite character. i loooooooooove lotr, but i dont think the importance of women is emphasized enough. the entire history of humanity has been filled with the glory of men. women have always been considered less important. this troubles me, which is why i enjoy watching movies and reading books that involve strong women like eowyn.

Well, the reason for men being superior was happening at the time Tolkien wrote the books. He was born in the 1800s and died in the 1900s. Women were treated like dogs back then and therefore he did include some of that in his book. I'd have to say my favorite female character is Arwen. She is so wise and graceful, but she is ferocious in battle. I think the only reason Arwen isn't as involved in battle as Eowyn in because her father prevents her form doing quite a bit.

you have a point, but i still like eowyn better. and the fact that that was happening when the books were being written does not justify it! but thats just my opinion and the world would be very boring if we all thought the same thing about everything.

I feel like Arwen is kinda dramatic. Eowyn gets her heart broken, then moves on and does something with her life. Arwen acts like the world revolves around Aragorn.
