I won't get into the whole breeding thing because quite frankly I think that it's wrong.

For every pair of rats you let go to a new home, you're instantly taking away homes from rescue rats and rats that genuinely need homes. There's a lot of rescue rats out there so nobody can justify breeding more of them. 9 litters is a lot. If the litters was say, 10 babies each... that's 90 rats. Possibly more. Those homes could have adopted rescues. You can foster rescue mums without breeding more.

Can I ask, where are your older rats from (the ones you breed from)?
What age are they?
What age do you breed them at?

We do not have a rescue rat thing here or trust me i would be rescuing them all. I have looked around for something like this but there is nothing around here. All there is, is those damn petshop rats and who knows what those things carry just from going to the breeder to the petshop.

My older rats go back to in lines. I have papers for them all so i know. I bred most of my Older ones.
Their age really varies.
I start breeding the females no early than 6 months and stop breeding no later than a year. None of my girls have more than one litter so I often breed her somewhere in the middle.

My father has decided to destroy my old closet and build in a new, larger one. I'm hoping there'll be room for rats(or all of my snake supplies) because I have been thinking about getting them more often.

I got my first two of a breeder, Prince and Duke. I got their papers that give a line back to great grandparents. Then My mum brought me another 2 from a different breeder, Abby and Leah. I breed from there. i still have their papers. I have only had one petshop rat, Which was the first i had, and i took her to the vet to get her checked as i always do and she had something wrong with her so i stopped with the petshops from there. I lost her within a week of getting her...

Well, snakes have to eat too you know ^^;. I was feeding mine pinkie mice [Baby mice, have no fur owo.] and those whom have bigger snakes need to feed young rats to collossal ones. Though I never would breed for the purpose of snake food, and it isn't the best choice to buy live prey for the snakies, I don't exactly have a problem with mice/rats, hopefully as long as they are dead previously, and as humanely as possible.

Anyways, I was really thinking about getting two more rats. We have a local breeder, though I am unsure if she is still running. I'd hate to have to get a petshop rat, and then end up loosing the rat due to health problems. Hopefully I'll be able to get two hoodies <3. Blue Hoodies ♥.

I mean... they have been sick since weve had them and no medicine will help. (Weve tried several times)

Petshop rats often get health problems from the other animals there and it depends how long they were held at the petshop really. If you get them straight away they may be healthy but my petshop rat wasnt so i have never gone back to them...

Well, I guess mine were there were a while... They both has upper respiratory infections and weve gone to 3 different vets an gotten medicine, but it goes away for only a month, but then it comes back. It makes me sad, and they both get nose bleeds. >.<
