I saw him there face was pale and white.
He wore a blank expression, he died last night.
Seemed so peaceful laying there.
Without worry, without care.
Our eyes on the other hand were flooded with tears of pain
With him gone our lives would never again be the same.
Yet at the same time I'm thankful.
Thankful for this.
He's gone for now, but where he is, could only be eternal bliss.
His eyes must have glown as he walked through the gates
To heaven where god sits and waits.
Oh the light must of just flooded down
And swept him away off to the clouds.
I wish I could have seen him.....

"Mary," I said and carressed her gentle face.

She leaned against my shoulder needingly, begging for my attention. She murmured a few words I couldn't understand.

"Mary." I repeated and remained waiting.

Still no reply from the ice-frozen, statue-still, shocked Mary.

Mary looked deeply into my unforgiven eyes with a astonished look.

Finally a word came out of her mouth. But instead of a clear reply, it was a hoarse and scratchy mutter.

"Charlie. You can't do this."

I smiled softly and swirled her around on her toes.

She stopped herself immediately and frowned angrily.

"Charlie. You can't do this." She repeated sharply, her hard to hear voice drifting off silently.

I froze, and said the first thing that came to my mind.

"I think I know what I can and can't do, Mary."
