~The Diary Of A Winged One~

I wanted to start writing a diary after reading Xela XIII's diary, 'Dear Stupid Journal'. I may give up on this half-way through as I'm very busy. So, here is the first entry!


Dear Diary,

My shoulder blades are aching so much lately. It's driving me insane. My best friend, Flossy, and my crush, Eric, were also complaining of shoulder ache. I understand what they feel. I was walking with Flossy after school when we started talking about it.
'Hey, Flossy. What do you think the shoulder ache is?' I said, as if it wasn't that important.
Flossy stopped. 'We could be growing wings!' She joked.
My heart had started beating fast. 'What if we are?' I suddenly panicked.
Flossy looked at me. 'I was joking, okay?'
I pretended to look okay, after almost having a heart-attack. 'Yea, I know.'
The walk home was silent, both of us lost in our thoughts. She waved good-bye as I opened the door to my house and walked in. I went straight to my room and locked the door. I fell on my bed and started writing. Now, I think I'm going to go to bed, as my shoulders ache. Hopefully they'll get better soon.

Dear Diary,

When I got up, the pain was gone! I started to put my school shirt on when I realised. Two small, fluffy black wings were sprouting out my back. I put my hand over my mouth to cover my scream. I turned to my bed. It was covered with small feathers. I grabbed. a pair of scissors then cut out two holes in the back of my shirt. I put it on. I grabbed my jumper, but I didn't put holes in that. I quickly brushed my teeth, then ran downstairs, my short black hair fluttering out behind me. I quickly ate some toast then I grabbed my bag and ran out the door. I ran to where Flossy and I always meet. She was leaning against a brick wall, lounging lazily in the morning sun. I walked up to her. 'Has the pain stopped in your shoulders?'
Flossy opened her large green eyes. A grin was on her face. She turned around, and there was a pair of small fluffy pink wings under her candyfloss hair.
I gasped. 'You cut through your jumper? Everyone will see them!'
Flossy just shrugged.
I sighed. 'Lets just go to school.'
We walked into the classroom, late as usual. I slipped into the desk next to Eric. I tried to cover my blush.'Hey, have you grown wings?'
Eric turned to me, grey eyes half-closed under his white hair. 'Yes I have. A pair of small white ones.'
I nodded. 'Thanks.' I then stood up and sat next to Flossy. She gave me a look to say 'Does he have them?' I just nodded, thinking about what this meant. I didn't pay attention to any of my lessons. Oh well. After thinking about it, it seems that we have wings according to our hair colours... That's all I can write, for now.

Dear Diary

I woke up and noticed that my wings were bigger. They are now the length of my arm. I tried flicking them. The black feathers twitched, glinting in the lamp-light. I put my shirt and jumper on. My wings stuck out like a sore thumb. I tried to lay them flat on my back. I was surprised when they seemed to disappear. I was about to walk out the door when my phone buzzed. I looked at the message. It was from Flossy. 'Meeting place has changed. Meet me on the roof of my house.' I read. I sighed when I got what she meant. I walked outside and took my jumper off. I flapped my black wings. I lifted slightly off the ground. I gasped. I flapped harder. I was lifted up off of the ground again, but this time, I soared above the houses. I saw Flossy's house in the distance. I dropped down onto a roof and started walking across to Flossy's. I finally reached Flossy's house, and nearly fainted when I saw Eric on the roof. I blushed. My wings fluttered. Eric gave a small smile. 'So you've managed to control your wings then.'
I just nodded. Flossy ran up to me and hugged me. I laughed. Her large pink wings were spread out wide. 'It was Eric who called us all together.' She said, releasing me from the death grip. I looked at Eric. With his large white wings, he looked so awesome.
I'll write more later.
