Ooooh, maybe you should explain. My mum sometimes understands my weird brain.

Doctor Who isn't a show for everyone. If your friends are willing start them at the [2005] beginning, because it's the best way to ease into the show and its mythology (since it was designed to draw in new fans and explain stuff to them). But if they don't want to watch don't make them. Speculative fiction is not for everyone...scifi gets a bad name, especially in a school environment. If you're not confident enough take being considered a nerd (or secretive enough to hide it, as was my case) you might not really want to be considered a person who is in to scifi. And even if you do like speculative fiction in general you might not be happy wrapping your brain around time travel. Or you might not be engaged in the story and characters.
Some people just don't like Doctor Who. It's the same with any fiction.

Apparently people don't appreciate the effort it takes to talk in a British accent worthy of a Doctor Who poem, because I didn't place at the drama tournament with my DW poem

Anti-Whovians.....

Yes, I feel you. I get the strangest looks. Well, I've got one friend at least, she understands! It's actually kind of funny watching some people and how the look at me like I'm the biggest nerd ever, 'cuz I am.
