Well, people still say to me (mostly in trades, as if to soften me up), 'OMG I luv Guinea Pigs! Aren't they cute!'
Then I just tell them, it's an inside joke between me and you.

Your trade rules shouldn't be used as an excuse for taking peoples pets.

If people want to send me trades like that then they can... It's just their fault for not putting anything on our side... I don't go around and tell people to do that.

Hm, I think... that since there is the suggestions feature now and it SAYS "if you don't want the person to be able to accept the trade" then it's just a silly oversight on the part of the person offering free pets not to choose suggestion. Occasionally I accept free stuff from people, but mostly it's some n00b who's bothered me about getting one of my locked group pets and thinks that if they send me enough free stuff I'll trade them it. (They can't actually access some of my pets). After 3 or so messages, I might accept.

Wow... I'd never do that. It'd be so mean. It's basically them taking advantage of the situation.

Heh, well. That is how life works, I think. Humans will take advantage of other people's oversights. It's not a big deal as if the person is really, really upset, couldn't they PM the admins and ask for a trade-back? S: It's happened that way before.

I don't think "they didn't read my rules" is an acceptable excuse for taking someone's pet. Were they stupid to send a trade with pets on their side, and no safeguard to make sure their pets weren't taken without something given in return? Yeah, that's a little foolish. Does it give anyone the right to act like a jerk and take what's not theirs? No. >.> If they break your rules, you can foe them and never have to deal with them again.

I don't think I'd trade with anybody that said they'd take someone's pets if they had the opportunity.

*snorts* I'm not a big n00bscammer, in general I only send back lousy trades to people who tried to scam me out of July pets or something, but if it looks like they're a total rude idiot I think the person on the other end has every right to *attempt* to scam them in return. The thing is, if the person isn't reading the trade rules, isn't actually looking at the suggestions button, and is STILL offering pets, then I'm not sure I'd really want to trade with them anyway.

I don't think I'd trade with anybody who completely overlooked my trade rules. It shocks me how many people say "I read your trade rules and am following them" and then breaks every single one.

Our solution to world hunger now is to kill half of them? That's what that makes me think of...

Heh. At one point I was sent a lousy trade and sent a lousy trade back. The person then yelled at me for being such a b***h and not reading THEIR trade rules. For every real newbie there are n00bs. And honestly, I'll make exceptions for lousy trades if the person's been playing a month or less, and try to explain things to them, but if they've been on as long as I have and are clearly trying to scam me, what gives? >.< (I got a trade once from someone who said something like "I'll give you this if you give me your custom". I just accepted it. ._.)

What some people don't seem to realize, is how hard it really is to be a newb now, as there are so many more pets around than there used to be. I know, I only joined in October, and I knew nothing about rarities, so ended up sending some stupid trades, and really got growled at by someone. But then, I also had someone give me for a few of my pets, a Uncommon advent '08 dog. I thought that they where really nice, but then someone, I don't think that they were new, sent a trade, my Advent '08, for their September '09 Uncommon. I, knowing nothing of rarities, accepted.

What I find annoying, is that people take advantage of newbs. I was thinking, that maybe if people stopped taking advantage of newbs, there would be less n00bs. I knew someone, on another site, that ended up being a n00b, because of how unfairly they were treated as a newb.

And yet, when I was a newb, I actually bothered to read the bloody rules and figure out rarities. Just because you're new is no license to disregard clearly visible trade rules and spam people.

That's true for sooo many places. xD I started getting more of an idea about trading by lurking around here. And lurking is how I found the exchange thread, which is when my trading started to take off. By observation around there you kind of see what's more desireable or more rare than other outcomes.

Then again, it took a while. xD At first I didn't even want to be involved in the forums.

My trade rules are funny... I try and trick them with a puppy.

If someone is constantly annoying you, I can understand accepting. If someone just did it by accident... I'd just find it increibly mean.

I did read the rules, and tried to work out rarities, and I did read trade rules, but not all newbs do, but there is also a high number of people that do not have trade rules.

If they don't have trade rules then the newbie is totally justified in getting ticked off that the person got mad that they weren't following some unspoken rule. However, you are the exception that proves the rule, I think.

...BTW, who is the person telling all the newbies weird rumours about the site? I've had so many people ask on chat, where is the button that gives you a custom? ._.
