If I may jump in here -- I edit, too. I edit the plot, I edit the actual substance, I edit the second I see a problem arise.
It does nothing but help me.
Time? Time is nothing but an object -- a limitless one, at that.
Even during the time span a month, one can find the time to just write. Put their creativity to use.
I mean, writers will be writers. Not to mention that writers are editors, as well.
If one has a keen eye to edit on the spot, don't tell them it's wrong.
The point of NaNoWriMo is whatever you make it, not what other people tell you it should be. c:

I edit things like misspelled words and add words into it, but at this point I rarely care how horrible that sentence sounded. I have so many run on sentences and fragments...
