Part 1
'Before it all started'


I leaned in toward the table, staring eerily down into my bowl. It had seemed I had eaten it all, but truthfully I hadn't eaten any of that disgusting slop that some people call food.
"Mama," I said quietly, still staring at my bowl. My stomach growled fiestly, so I supposed that this 'food' was better than none. Mama gazed up from her dish pile and grinned at me.
"Yes, darling?" Her hoarse, sick-sounding voice asked. I grinned back at her, but wasn't freightened by her scratchy voice. "Could I have some more?"
She smirked and walked over to the table, staring down at my bowl. She smiled sastistfactly. "Ah. Sparkling clean bowl. Im very proud of you, darling." And with that she poured the last of the disgusting goo into my bowl. My mama always said, 'any food at all is a blessing, dear.' and I intended to know that any food is a blessing. But this goop? Barely a blessing, more a demonic curse. But, I guess my life isn't all ice cream and rainbows all the time.
After chugging down and barely even digesting the 'blessing' I had just gotten, I turned towards Mama and gave her my dish, she then drowned it in the sink with all the other dishes. "Mama, can I go outside?" She smiled and gave me a pat. "Sure, dear."
I was an only child. I had nothing to do inside, so I guess I masked my boredom with the outside world. I sat on the grass outside and played with my own tail for a few minutes. Afterwards, the ground started shaking eerily. Grass was being ripped, the sky was trembling, and the ground became cracked all the way. Mama shouted from the window, "Come inside! Now!" I picked up my heavy tail and dashed into the house, then I sprinted towards Mama and hugged her with bliss.
"Mama! What's happening?" I asked as tears strolled down my face like my cheeks were the track and they were the race cars. Mama gazed out the window and paused, as frozen as ice.

"Apocolypse."

I gasped. The Chicken smoothie moderators had chosen me to be the mom of the 2nd Gen pups. Now they were choosing the dad of the pups. I closed my eyes and thought of Jasper. I hoped he would be chosen to be the dad of my pups. They called out a name that I didn't hear at first. I heard the name ripple around the crowd. "Jasper!" I said happily. I couldn't wait! Jasper and I ran up to each other and touched noses. Then we set off towards the stage where we would get our instructions.

Should I continue?

I will continue even though no one responded.

It was 2 month after we had been chosen. I had 4 little pups in purple and red blankets snoozing next to me. I prodded my favorite little pup. She looked like me and Jasper. I suddenly looked up from my musings and turned to Jasper. "Lets name them" I said smiling at him. "You get two I will get two." Jasper smiled back and said "You first." "Jessica" I said without hestation. "Our names together" I said when Jasper gave me a questioning look.
"And this is Anne Marie" I said pointing at the purple pup that looked so much like me.Jasper gave me a playful push. "My turn" He said touching a pup with a lightning bolt on the blanket "Thor. After the god of Lighting and Thunder." "And the last one?" I said looking at the last pup. She was unsaul. She had wings and looked like she was glowing. Me and Jasper said at the same time. "Angel!"

The dogs have been split into two social classes; The Old, and the New. The old class is made up of dogs from '08-'09, and the new class is dogs from '10-'11. They have been divided, and never see each other. They hate each other. But when Aaron, an Old, and Cara, a new, fall in love, will they ever be free from the social groups that constrict their lives?
