Do you have a plot planned out? Also are you going for the full 50,000 word goal? If you are just start writing, you can always change names later or ask I people here to tell you random names to use XD. Just write!!! I'm at 17,205 words. ^^

Whew, you better get cracking! You could always do what I do and just put in a generic name (think "Bob" or "Mary") and just go through and use the search function to replace them with the right name when you come across it.
Or, alternatively, just don't mention your characters' names until chapter two like I've done. It gives some ~mystery~, I swear.

I was going for maybe 1,000-5,000 since I'm incredibly new at writing anything.

I go for 1k or so a chapter. :)

I usually make my chapters around a thousand words. That's just my personal preference though.
And for my novel I've been making them a bit longer anyway.

A chapter can be however long as you want it to be, it can be 100 words, it can be 10,000, as long as it conveys the idea it is supposed to and ends at a good breaking point. I'm just adding in the chapters afterwards to mine. You should try for a higher goal (something harder) honestly, I don't think I could tell a story in 1,000 words if I tried, LOL. Just let a plot come to you and if it doesn't I'm sure some people here will be willing to help!

XD, those are mostly names of robots I have or just names I like. Don't use Boe though, that's my charry! ^^ Oh and by the way, do most people pronounce Boe's name Bo or Bay? I've heard it pronounced both ways so just wondering...

Haha I only say that because I had been passing up my word count by nearly 200 everyday and then I get a job and I can't even reach my word count. Though for you...I wouldn't worry about names at the moment, even those can come to you later. My stories chapters are around 3,500 words each (except 1 that is 5,000). I just go with the flow and when I'm done with a particular scene, I end the chapter. I also end them when I change POVs and which characters I follow.

I pronounce it as Bo. Mainly cause that's what it looks like (and cause it reminds me of the word Poe). Ironic considering he's a ghost too. XD

Ok, thanks! I pronounce it that way too but I've heard a few of my friends pronounce it Bay when trying to read it and the computer reading program I have on one of robots pronounces it Bay and it's supposed to have correct pronunciation. XD, I don't even know, I pronounce it Bo but I was wondering if that was wrong... I get all my names from my robots, my first aibo ers-210 was named Boe, so that's what my name character's name is!
