"Hike!" the clear words hit you like a knock on the head and you're off. The snow flys on each side from your paws, the snow that is hiked up from the dog in front of you flying into your eyes. You squint, trying to see past the sparkly white bits that were caught on the fur around your eyes. Everything passes in a blur as your team rushes forward. The four other teams struggle to catch up as you all charge forward. "Gee! Haw!" Commands fly out to you, and you move in the direction of each one. This is what you live for, this is the game of mushing.

You are a sled dog, in the race of a life time. A ten day race up a mountain. You get one rest in the middle of the day, and then at night you get to go to sleep. They time you on how fast you can get to each checkpoint. In the end, they add the times up, and whoever wins, well, you are named mushing champs! Your teams are named after their ranks from previous years. Alpha has been the best, and Omega has been the worst. Will the names be switched around at race's end? Or will Alpha take the prize once more?

Mushing is a sport relying on the strength of dogs. This is also know as sled dog racing. A few terminology words you might wish to know are listed below:
Hike/Mush: Starting command to tell dogs to go.
Gee: Right Turn
Haw: Left Turn
Come Gee/Haw: Turn in a 180 degrees angle.

|-|History|-| "I was born to a man who was considered a dog hoarder. He had over a hundred dogs, all of us cramed into around a dozen, small, outdoor cages. One winter, the man had a heart failure and died, and without the little food and water he was providing us, it was just too hard. Many of the dogs died within the rest of he cold spell, including my mother and littermates. I alone was left from my family, as well as a few other dogs. Some humans came and took us survivers out of there, putting us in a shelter. I always kept to myself really, not going near the humans who would come and go, taking this dog and that, but I always was there to lift the spirits of the dogs around me when hope begun to fade. After awile, a strange person that I had never seen before came, and picked me. I've been a sled dog ever since."
