"Shade.....FoxWing I would guess? My mother being a FoxWing and my father one of the Vampyrum Spectrum, I am unsure of my last name." I told her, the wind blowing gently through my black tassled fur made me shiver quickly. I fluttered my wings and then folded them back in, nestling them tightly around my large body.

Kappa blinked. "Foxwing and... Vampyrum? Your mother fell in love with a Vampyrum Spectrum?" she shook her head. "Well I'm a Brightwing, ears to tail tip!" she smiled a bit.

I smiled back at the small bat. "I can't say for sure about my breed, Vampyrum FoxWing?" I suggested and laughed. "Well I guess we should contiue on our way before the Dawn Chorus starts up. You have to travel to Hibernaculum, don't you?" I asked her. I had never been. Never made the journey. Never had a colony to go with.

"Yes, to see my family," Kappa nodded. She sighed, "Of course, there aren't many of us left. Tons of Brightwings have been banded... is the same happening with your colony?"

"Oh.....no. I don't have a colony. Never have. Never made the journey...." I said drifting off but then quickly finding my place and contiuing. "But! On the other hand I have been banded...." I told her, scared she would fly away. I spread one wing out to its full extent and showed my black, half dollar sized band wrapped tightly around my scarred four arm.

"So that's why you've gotten kicked out..." Kappa sighed, feeling bad for this bat. "My mother always told me to stay away from banded bats," she frowned. "But... I've always felt bad for them. I saw this one Brightwing in my colony, Marina, get kicked out a few seasons ago. It's amazing how quickly your colony can turn on you..."

"No. From the moment I was born to this very moment I have never had anyone. I had my mother for 4 months and my father for 2. After that I was alone. Alot has happened between now and then but......I am free." I stated silently, darkly and deeply, my iced gaze freezing her soul.

"O-Oh," squeaked Kappa, a little nervous of his hard glare. "So... it was, erm, nice meeting you but I really should get going... heh heh..." She rustled her wings awkwardly.

"As should I." I told her, coldly, my glare refusing to leave. And with that I unfurled my wings and took off into the night, my strong breeze from the flapp of my wings blowing back her fur. I soared away over the tree tops, outlining against the moon, the only thing left that was visible of me was the disturbing turquise glow that cast out from my chilling eyes.
