"I don't know about that." he said quietly. "My whole life this has been me. I keep it inside me, than I write it out. I don't know if I can do anything else anymore."

Angela closed her eyes, resting her cheek against his chest. "You can try at least," she said quietly

"But I'm not sure I want to." he admitted quietly. "I don't want to be like my parents. Thats why I promised myself never to stop smiling. Because if I do...." he paused, trying to keep himself calm. "If I stop smiling when it hurts, I'm not sure I'll be able to smile again."

Angela pulled away and looked at him. She tilted her head slightly to the side, giving a small smile. "How about if you stop smiling long enough to tell me, I'll do whatever I can to help you smile again after?" she suggested, reaching a hand up to fiddle with his hair lightly

"Theres not much else to tell." he said quietly

Angela raised a brow. "Really?" she asked just as quietly, incredulous.

He sighed. He couldn't lie to her, not really. "Actually... actually theres a lot to tell." he said, trying to stop the tears that threatened to slide from his eyes. He hadn't cried since he was 4, and he wasn't about to start now.

Angela held out her arms for him. "C'mere," she murmured. He needed a hug.
