Any questions: How can I obtain more rares if I have barely enough to trade for them?

First off, welcome! Secondly, about those rares, not all rare pets are from '08 or '09, most of these last Halloween pets were marked as such, so it just depends. Since there are still quite a few Halloween pets in circulation, you have pretty good chances of getting your hands on some of those. People have an abundance of one pet, and want another, so just start trading and "play the books" to get the pets you want. Remeber, you may not want a pet, but other people may want to trade your most wanted for the very pet that you don't want!

Any questions: how exactly do you get your Gallery going? i think i'm just missing the instructions some way.. also, can you post in your gallery images you've created on GIMP or PSP or any other computer art proggie?

Well, there are several ways to do it.

One way is you can make an Oekaki competition. You can do this two ways. Go to Editable Oekaki and find a lineart you like (and says you can use it) and then say "Color in", then save and finish later. Then go to the Competition Oekaki board and say "New Post" then load the lines and post them. Or you can just draw your own lines or a full background and have people draw on it. Make sure to offer prizes and to read the rules before you make one.

Second way is by making an art contest here: viewforum.php?f=43
It is about the same as the one above, but now people can draw it themselves.

Or you can do it the old fashioned way and make one yourself ;3 Fursonas are supposed to be you in animal form. A person on the otherside of the internet can't know you as well as you know yourself.

They'll help you get started on the site, such as things with trading, etc. As for the rares, just build up trade fodder and you'll get there. c: I highly suggest you start out adopting the maximum amount of every pet. Even if you don't like, for example spiders, someone else might and you can trade it for what you want. However, there are "hidden" aspects for trading. For example, a rare from 2008 is much more valuable than a rare from 2010 because it's older (and therefore harder to find). You can find a handy guide on rarities here. I'd also suggest checking under the "Trading Advice and Help" at the Guide Index. There are some handy guides there that can help you get the pet of your dreams, or work toward a better trade fodder. ^^

Glad to hear you're enjoying your time! I'm also trying to collect every pet too. ^-^ As with HaiTiffanyBear, I suggest you read up under the "Trading Advice and Help" at the Guide Index because there are some handy guides that can help you with your trading. It will take quite awhile, so you'll have to learn to be patient, but good luck! ^^ I'd suggest using the wishlist function in order to keep track of what pets you do have and what pets you don't have. The pets grow on their own, and are usually fully grown by the end of the month.

Hi! I'm panda and I am new here! I am really liking this site! I have only been on here for about two weeks. I'm working on looking all around this site and teaching myself what goes where anyhow it works. I am trying to collect all the pets no matter how rare they are. I will try to get them.

I'd suggest you look under the "Trading Advice and Help" at the Guide Index. There are topics there, as under the whole thread, that will help you trade for the pets you need and understand the economy of CS. Unfortunately, it's not as easy as trading one pet for one pet, or a common for a common. There are several other things to consider, which you can find explained after reading this.

Welcome to CS! ^^ If you need any help with the forum and site stuff, feel free to ask. c: As for the "economy" (the trade-value system as you put it), I would highly suggest you check out The "Understanding" Rarities Guide. It's very helpful, and if you're still not sure, you can use the "Is This A Fair Trade?" Thread. It generally gets locked after about 800 or so pages, but Hekomi usually posts a new one, so you can look out for the new link at the last page if you end up needing it after it's locked. ^^ To get your gallery going, you click "Oekaki" at the end of the menu of the top of the page. There, you pick an area you want to go that you feel meets your needs and click "Create New Drawing". If you're having trouble understanding Oekaki, there's a great guide [url=wiki.chickensmoothie.com/index.php/Oekaki_guide]here[/url]. For images you've created in GIMP or Photoshop, you would post that in Share Your Art.

Just to add a little to this answer;

There is a really awesome Fursona Guide to help you design your own fursona. There are also people to discuss your design with there and it might help you find the right fursona^^.

How can we post pictures?

For a picture off Google, you need to copy the image location. Then you use image codes-
Example-

Code: Select all

[img]**Image***location****here***[/img]

If you want a picture of a chicken smoothie pet, then you will need to go on the pet's page. (Click!). Then scroll to the bottom and copy and paste the forum code. (The one of the right.) Then you just have to paste it. You don't need image codes on this one because they are already in it.
