The reason for that is because this pet is extremely popular- people offer rare pets for it in hopes of "outoffering" other offers. It's not rarer than its littermates, just more popular and consequently harder to find. c:

agreed. if you look in older players' trade fodder, you can usually find at least one of those in it.

Not any time soon. This seemed to be the most common of the outcomes for that set. At one point everyone's trade folders seemed to be flooded with those dogs.
