I can be in charge of something! Just not the member list, I'd fail.
Come up with a convincing topic and no one will think to ask, Is this true or is it make believe? For the period of reading, it will necessarily be true. That's the trick, after all. How eagerly we collaborate in our own hoodwinking. All an author has to do is say: Listen. This is what happened...

I am good at being in charge of stuff. Although my memory is terrible and my tendensy to spam has it's own issues. So I can't regulate that... :P

I think I'll just stick to being a regular member.

If you remember anything about me from the past..it's the exact same, wolfgirl. I'm still the same spammy newbie. XD

That would be fantastic. I struggle to keep up with this thread because it grows so fast and conversations are so often lost in piles of spam.

Maybe make it a rule that cool Doctor Who pictures are only posted on weekends or something? Just to stop in-depth discussions being killed so often? Posting links rather than actual pictures would be even better, since some don't fit properly in the post space and posting links gives credit to the creators. But maybe I'm being overly obnoxious here *shrugs*

Sorry about that, just pointing out that we're at over 1000 pages now, which is pretty much the limit. :3

And to keep this from not being spam, I'll pose this question: If YOU had the oppurtunity to travel through Earth's history to ANY time (with the Doctor, of course!), what time would you choose?

Are we able to have a different thread for photos and quotes and everything else we love about doctor who that ppl are starting to see as spam. I gotta say I love seeing ppls quotes and any photos ppl want to share. Please this is a great idea to let us still share without ruining the chat part of the thread.

I was going to say the Carboniferous, but there were giant centipedes back then and regular centipedes are bad enough. So maybe the Permian. I would love to see Dimetrodons and other synapsid reptiles. Of course, if I came too late, there might be a little lack of oxygen problem. I would love to travel through all of the really ancient time periods. See what kind of life there was and get a good idea of what caused some of the mass extinctions perhaps, but mostly just being able to take pictures of really awesome things like cycad forests and whatnot would be so awesome. So in other words, I would want to go on the most awesome paleontology field trip.

It would be nice if links were posted instead of the actual images/gifs - it's fine if it's just one or two being posted, but when people post a whole pageful of gifs it really bogs down slower computers and makes it hard to load the thread in (especially when said pageful then gets quoted in full, doubling or trebling up all the gifs). When I was having computer trouble a while back, I couldn't even come into this thread half the time because all the posted gifs made my computer crash. =/ If all the gifs are on one webpage, like Tumblr, then people could just link to the page and maybe only post one or two of their favourite ones from the site - that would help a lot. :3

On the spam issue, I'd suggest having a thing about not welcoming people excessively. A hello is nice, but make sure there's more to your post than just "Hi, new person! Don't blink!" followed by a page of relatively random one-liners about fezzes and shadows. Just because it's from Doctor Who doesn't mean it's relevant. Also, adding a minor comment about Doctor Who on to an otherwise completely off-topic post doesn't make the post on-topic - talking about your day at school and adding on "I wish the Doctor had been there!" doesn't make it less spammy. ;3 I don't know if someone wants to set up a Doctor Who Xat so people in the thread can go there to chat or swap/recite quotes and stuff? That would give people a place where they can freely go off-topic or do silly fun stuff that would be spammy in the thread, so they'd be able to do more of that if they wanted while keeping the actual thread tidier. ^^

Since we're kind of on the subject, what things would people like to see with the new thread setup? Fanart sections, best quotes, Doctor/companion spotlight of the month, Classic Who suggestions, etc.? Making a new thread is a great opportunity for organizing and setting up new stuff, so now's the time to suggest that cool thing you've always wanted to have on the thread. :3
