On my way to class, I reached for my cell and dialed one of the numbers she'd written down. She spoke for a few moments with the trainer, who said he'd be around later today. I thanked him and hung up, walking into class.

Tori walked to the barn to greet a couple of trainers that showed up for the people who called. "You're here to train horses correct?" Tori said and they all said yes.

10 minutes Jc thought as she looked at the clock...

I walked outside after class to meet the trainers.

[Destrie]

Jc skipped happily out to the barn... She'd just finished her small amount of homework...

"The trainers are here." Tori said when Jc entered. "There are some beginners races here this weekend, and you all are eligible for them. There is one every 3 hours up until 12 am for each day of the weekend, so you can only enter every other one." She smiled. "The first race is at 12 PM on Saturday and Sunday, the next at 3 PM, but tomorrow the first one will start at 3 and you may be excused from class, another at 6, then 9, then the last at 12. So basically you can enter 2 tomorrow, and I believe 3 on Saturday and Sunday. The track isn't even a mile long and it's half track races, but I'd be careful of entering races too frequently, but it should be fine as long as the length doesn't exceed a mile so half a track is rather short.. Sorry if I confused you, need me to repeat something? Also, at 3 tomorrow it's actually a one time full track intermediate/advanced race to kick off the event, so... sorry if I'm confusing you."

'So, tomorrow we can race 2 times after the first race, then maybe 3 on the weekend, if the horses arent too tired?' Jc asked, seeing if she had it right... 'Which one is Storm's trainer?' she asked

"Yes!" I pumped my fist as I walked in. I stood straighter and smiled, shaking hands with the trainer. I grabbed a clipboard and a pen and wrote down the races I'd be trying for.

"The one you called for? You did call for one ... right?" She asked with a shrug. "And yes.. as long as your horses aren't too tired. They require a vet checkup.. and the vet is coming to inspect Ruffian and Secretariat, as they are participating in the advanced race. They can check on Storm too if you want, because that's the only way they can race. The others can get one any time during the weekend and enter races afterwards. I think this will be so much fun!" She smiled and jumped in glee.. she didn't know why this was so exciting.

Matt came in the barn. "Woah, explaining the races Tori? I called the vet for us too, since I'm going to enter Foolish Pleasure. I've been training him." (Pretend he's been to classes? haha)

Tori grinned. "I'll be watching."

(I'm going to pretend that Ruffian and Foolish Pleasure NEVER raced yet.. that's the Match Race that Ruffian is going to break her leg and that will be the end of her career.. Foolish Pleasure is an intermediate horse, but he will be entering the beginner races because FP can't win advanced yet..)

'Yeah, i called the bob guy' she said... hrm... 'Bob?' she asked, seeing if one of the trainers would be bob... 'and i'll get the vet to check storm when he comes' she said smiling... today was so exciting : )
