But they're Doctor Who quotes. Is that still spammy? I mean, I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but this is the Doctor Who fan club.

Yes, it is still spammy to post just a quote and 'lol' or something like that. Quotes should only be posted if they're directly relevant to an ongoing discussion or part of a larger post. As for what to talk about, there's no need to keep talking if there's nothing Whovian you're currently interested in discussing. ;3 The thread doesn't need to be kept moving at all times - it's fine to let it be for a bit until a topic for discussion comes up. Since the thread is on point of being locked anyway because of its enormous size, the less posting the better, honestly. I know wickedwolfgirl was planning to make a new thread, so hopefully that will be done soon.

Ok so I loved reading all those quotes, I rewatched some episodes and think ooh if only I could add that quote to my sig. Ok so I'm a newbie whovian and am going to try to start watching the old who. Everyone seems to have their fav going to try to watch them in order but having probs finding the first season online for free.

I'd say start from Two because of reasons.

I'd go with Two if you can find him, Three if you can't get Two. :3 It's probably best to only go to One after you've had a little more experience with other Doctors, since he's very different from the modern Doctors (and his episodes are also very different from modern episodes) and would likely be quite a shock if you dropped straight into his series from the new ones. X3 I have a certain fondness for One, but he is definitely cranky at times. A lot of times. Three is also cranky, but he has some hilarious ongoing bickering with the Brigadier, and it's also with Three that the Master first shows up (Roger Delgado <3). Lots of UNIT and soldiers trying unsuccessfully to shoot stuff (the Brigadier remarks on how he'd like to just once meet an outer space menace that wasn't immune to bullets XD), so if you're less keen on UNIT/soldier-heavy episodes like The Sontaran Stratagem and prefer the time/space-travelling stories, Three might not be the best one to start with.

if you think that's Star Wars-ish, wait until you watch the second season of Torchwood. "Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi, You're my only hope!"
