I was waiting for our exam to be over. I glared at the clock by the whiteboard. I counted down the seconds in my head.
14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6...
The bell rang. I grabbed my pencil case, and walked out of the classroom. The exam was finally over.

Then the boy who was sitting behing me throughout thr exam, went past me. I never noticed how nice he looked. I decided I liked him. And I then noticed that Ruth was tapping my shoulder and saying my name. She then got annoyed and shook me. "Stop day dreaming, and lets go to eat sumthin'!" We went towards the exit. I looked back at the boy....

Part 1
Shy as he was and loud as she was somehow the two seemed to fit together easily like an old boot and sock. Many mistook Iruko's face to be grumpy, but in actuality he was nothing but afraid of talking to strangers. With his sharp eyes and hidden smile, plenty possible friendships were chased away. It wasn't just his appearance that seemed to wear others down, but his name. Iruko. Too fancy. Too outlandish. Too strange for his classmates and littermates even. He cursed his mother for giving him such a strange name. The only dog who would say hi to him would continuously pester him, although if he was serious he quite enjoyed being talked to, was named Siler.
Siler was rumored to come from a pack of rufflings. One of the rufflings was even thought to be in prison. Iruko, try as he might to avoid her, was always trailed.
"Hey there, Ruke," Siler grinned as she walked up beside him with ease.
He longed to run. There was danger in her eyes and fresh wounds coating her body. She had obviously been in a fight. He didn't want to get mixed up with people like that.
"Ruke. Earth to Ruke. Did you hear me?" She asked, chewing her wad of gum rather loudly. Her messily done, red braid was already starting to come loose. He glanced back at her face. It wasn't any better.
Siler wasn't a very pretty girl to begin with. Her face was quite pudgy and she had tattoos on her ears. Scars draped across her face like a tsunami. Bruises appeared every week. He was certain that she must be some kind of gangster. Iruko dropped golden eyes back to the grey sidewalk they were slowly covering ground on.
"What do you want?" He asked gruffly, trying to sound tough as possible.
She let out a shrill laugh of delight.
"Ah, ye finally talked! Me friends thought ye were a mute or somet'un, but ye talked." That was another thing that grinded on his nerves, her accent. When careful she talked like a normal person, but as soon as her emotions got the better of her that annoying accent would kick in. He hated her voice. Hated it. Well.. it wasn't that bad. Maybe even kind of pleasant. He'd go even so far as to say a bit endearing to the way she talked. It was just a little bit charming perhaps. Just a little bit.
That red hair of her's wasn't also that bad. If Iruko was truthful, he was quite fond of it. Red, after all, was his favorite colour, and sometimes when they were walking home together the sun would shine off of it and it would gleam.
Then again, Iruko wasn't a very observant boy, especially when it came to the area of his own feelings. Instead of thinking about his particular interest in Siler, he went back to ignoring her. Leaving the girl to chatter to herself until they reached the grey building ahead.
Unlike humans, dogs have no purpose to go to school. So you should very well close that train of thought this instance. The grey building was nothing of the sort. No, it was called the "Hooblar", a nickname given to it by the Hooblar himself. For many years, through the storms and snows of the city, Hooblar had stood tall and strong. Even now as the walls were starting to decay it was the welcoming hang out for all the creatures living nearby. Everybody knew the Hooblar. It's like Starbucks, except for animals.
This particular morning was quite different from the rest of the times Iruko and Siler had traveled to the Hooblar. It wasn't just to have fun and play games, maybe a little poker and win a few dog biscuits. This time they were there on serious business. Or at least Siler was. She walked beside Iruko, chattering away as usual to the silent dog. Siler considered him a good companion, he never yelled or screamed at her like her siblings. She could tell he didn't exactly enjoy her company as she did his, but he didn't complain and so she met with him every day. Like previously mentioned, usually she would be here to score a few treats, today she was here to fight. Since a young age Siler had done her father's dirty work, but ever since her brother was put in prison he had given her even harder jobs.
Today would be her first murder, and she knew it wouldn't be her last.
"Bye Iruko," she said with a final smile. She wondered if he actually listened, if he ever did. He always seemed to be in his own exclusive world. Siler sighed and turned on her four heels 90 degrees, heading towards not the Hooblar but the woods. Her heart was pounding and her head aching, but the task had to be done. Whether she liked it or not.

The One-Eyed Sailor [♥] The Lady

He’d seen her every Sunday for several years. He’d watched her from the docks, slowly taking down the sails of his sailboat, inattentively untying the knots, his one eye always fixed on the young lady. She’d promenade down the sea walk, arm in arm with a new young man every week. The sailor had once exchanged a quick glance with the woman, and that glance was the kindle to his fire. Her intense blue eyes had reached into his very spirit itself and shaken it to its core. He had never set eye on such a lady as this, a lady with both ferocity and delicacy, beauty and raggedness.
He’d never learnt her name, to him she was just the Lady, to her he was the One-Eyed Sailor. Every Sunday, as the man docked his boat and watched the sun set over the sea. The ocean was blue, the blue of tropical water in photographs, the blue of the morning sky, the blue of the Lady’s eyes.
Every Sunday, as the Lady strolled by, his heart would rise in anticipation of her and the slightest possibility of her being alone. Perhaps she would melancholy glide past him, bejeweled white dress dragging on the concrete path underneath. Perhaps he would step forward and embrace her in a warm hug, wipe the salty tears off her face, and kiss her right there and then.
Or perhaps, she would be with another of her dates, and he would fade to the background, just another ordinary sailor on the dock like usual. So many questions pierced his relentless mind. Did she love him? Did she even know he existed? If she did, would she want to be with him.
The man never found out. His Lady died young, assassinated by hired killers. He soon followed, unable to cope with his split soul. Even in the barren, white wasteland of death, grief and regret shook his mind. What if he had introduced himself? What if he had made his feelings clear?
What if there was more than heartbreak and ignorance?
