I do hope the Guide Index thread will still exist. Honestly I find an on-site index much easier to find and use. Wikis to me have always seemed poorly organized and a pain to navigate. The Guide Index thread contrast is nice because the links to all the guides can be found on one page.

The guides index isn't staff-run, so it isn't going to change.

Is this going to be a situation where, if we keep our guide just on the forum, it will be effectively disregarded?

No more so than they currently are. Several people in this thread have indicated that they think these guides are new, so the guide index isn't providing enough visibility.

And is it possible to have an external link on the Wiki to just lead to the forum thread?
