Ash couldn't help herself when she came upon the black dress with the gold embroidery that she had worn their first night together. She pulled it from the closet, stripping and slipping into it easily. She laced it up the back, twirling around in the full skirts, unable to believe how amazing the satin felt on her skin once more. She smiled happily, part of her really missing those days, when things like this were the height of fashion.

Flipping through the journal, Jace read some of the passages he had written when he was in love....

Ash sighed softly, resting her head against the door frame as she looked into her actual bedroom. She knew that Jace wasn't in love with her as he had once been, simply from how he acted. He might still love her, but he had stopped doing the little romantic things he used to. She knew she had made a mistake in finding him once more and perhaps thought she should just slip away again, unnoticed as before.

Jace set the journal back down and winced. He looked back to the doorway, glad to have some time to himself. He sighed and walked back into the living room part of the suite. He sat down on the couch, tired.

Ash twirled in a small circle before falling back on the couch, her eyes closing slowly. A silent tear slowly dropped from her cheek as she lay there, one arm across her body, the other resting on the floor. Her hair was a mess around her pale face as she lay there, the perfect image of what she had been those 600 years ago. Right then, she really wished she could just disappear, right back into the past where her life had been perfect.

Jace got back up and scribbled a note. He walked over to the window and jumped out, landing gracefully on his feet. He took one last look at the window and ran.

Ash's eyes shot open, able to sense him leaving at a rather fast pace. She moved swiftly, the skirts rustling, as she hadn't bothered to change back into her modern clothing. She moved down the stairs and up into his tower, instantly able to tell he was gone. She moved to the open window, tears slipping down her face as the wind hit her. She knew she deserved this.

Jace could hear her crying far behind her but didnt care. He slowed when he got to the air field, waiting for them to ready the jet.

Ash moved around the room, searching for something, some note he had left, something to make this pain stop. She knew that she had this coming, but she hated that he had gotten her hopes up like that only to snatch them away once more.

Jace stood on the airfield, reflecting on what had happened with Ash. He thought being with her again would be nice, but it just brought back old, sour memories. He walked onto the plane, looking back.
