Zero lifted herself into a tree, somehow climbing onto the top branch. She peered below, then scanned the forest. It was beautiful. The sun seemed so close here, as it warmed her. It was peaceful..
Birds flew out a pocket in the forest, smoke following them. Fire licked at the trees, and she could see the fire was in a perfect line. Her eyes dilated, her abnormally long tail flickered. She could feel it in her gut, that dread that something bad is happening. Someone in her pack? She wasn't sure. She saw Rain walking from that direction, a sad look on her face. At that moment she knew she should not go. It wasn't her fight either.

She jumped.

Aeris looked at the barrier. "Maybe I'm an elemental. Maybe this fight is pointless."
