I told my mom my plans for my Halloween costume.
She wants to know what I'm going to be.
I can't find a way to explain to her that it's a troll from a web comic called Homestuck.
Why?

a) She'll want to know what it is. And if she sees the language she'll be pissed.
b) If she knows it's from a web comic she'll probably think I'm a no-life nerd even though I am and she doesn't realize it.

I need a nice, cheap, light orange dress for my girlfriend's bat mitzvah, or however you spell it.

Internet, what do you not understand about this? I am not paying a hundred twenty bucks for an eighties dress that looks like it's for someone in a nursing home.

If I can't find a dress by November, all my money is going into potato chips. Thank you very much.
