I luff rat babies.
I'm going to breed my rats soon- I just need to save more money so I can buy them food. I currently don't have enough cash to support two cages of ratties. D:
You need to have enough money to afford vet care for the mum and babies if something goes wrong too.
You probably should not consider take a litter if money is an issue. If you think your rats are absolutely perfect, mentally and physically, a serious breeder might want to use one of them for a litter. That way you can get a baby from your rat without having to raise a litter.

Sadly, rat breeders don't exist Asia. Money won't be a problem, as I'm sure if I can't afford it my parents will pay for vet bills. I just meant that I need to save up for a cage. I have a lot of money stored away for my babies, so I can look after them properly- believe me.

You don't need to breed your ratties just because you love them though >_< The babies won't be any healthier than your average pet shop rat. The best age to breed rats is 6 months, 9 at the very latest. Otherwise mum will have complications. It is a big thing to put your girl through just because you want babies. Trust me, I've been there, I was going to breed my beautiful girl Honey with one of my boys.... then I realised I shouldn't. They were 'healthy pet shop rats' at the time... then Honey went on to get a severe ear infection, bumblefoot, tumours. The boys all got respiratorys that eventually got too much for them and they passed away. Please don't breed your ratties just for the sake of it!
Not trading.

Have you ever had a rat?: Had, have and will have. :D
At the moment we have 11. Three were given to us, four were from a new girl we bought and got a surprise! Others were random purchases.
Here is a pic I happen to have:

A toast to rats!

*Super excited about the new shark costume for rats*
I now have an item to fit each of my online versions of my pet rats, Sharkie can now be a Shark - literally. <3
anyway, back on topic.. we moved my rats cage from my bedroom to the family room :c my Costochondritis (plus allergy related things) has been acting up and even with clean bedding their 'smell' (which I don't think they really have) in general has made it hard to breathe.. plus it's super cold in my room and I don't want them to freeze.
Sadie has gained all her weight back ^^ and they're all super happy with their home-made toys.
