(her) (him)
“Hey” she said with a light smile on her face.
He laughed at her as she approached him.
“So you know, hanging out in the middle of the field is your thing now?” she asked playfully.
He grinned and kissed her forehead.
“Yeah, if you wanna say that” He stuck his hands in his pockets and whistled a tune.
She just laughed and stared him in the eyes.
“You get hotter every time I see you” she said with a spark in her eyes.
He looked away, he face flushing red. If only the secrets he held he could share with her, but then that wasn’t the assignment.
She made pouty lips at him and stuck a hand on her hip.
“You’re somber today” she said almost in a whisper. She stood on the tip of her toes and kissed him gently on the lips.
He put his giant but gentle hands on her head and drew her closer as he kissed her deeper. Then he put a hand in his pocket and locked eyes with her, wincing he withdrew the dagger. A tear slipped down his cheek. She tried to draw back but he pressed her closer.
“I’m so sorry” he whispered in her ear, and then he plunged the dagger into her stomach. Her teal eyes widened in surprise and she stumbled back. Coughing she stared straight into his golden eyes. She placed a hand around the wood, blood seeped over and through her fingers, dropping slowly to the ground.
He reached out a hand to touch her face, but she withdrew quickly snarling.
“I didn’t mean it baby, I-“ he stammered.
“Why?” she whispered. Her voice was fading, and so was the light in her eyes.
“It’s my job” he said it so low that it was almost inaudible.
“So all this was fake” she snapped, her eyes flaring.
“No, I really loved you, but, no actually no I never loved you” his eyes changed from compassionate to angry in but a second.
She gasped and just as the words slipped from his lips she fell backwards into the grass and closed her eyes.
As he approached her, a tear fell down his cheek and he smiled weakly.
Moving the ginger hair from her face carefully he layed a kiss on her cold lips and whispered into her ear.
“It was all real”
