Sweetpaw shook her head. "No." She replied a little harshly. Her paw was fine. Just a wrenched claw. It only throbbed dully anyway. There was no need for Hawkclaw to look at it. And she wouldn't be able to go hunting either. The apprentice stood as tall as she could, staring the tom in the eye, tail tip twitching from side to side in profound aggitation.

Hawkclaw sighed and lifted his paw, unsheathing his claws. One of them was jutting out at an odd angle, forcing him to hold his toes spread further than usual. "This is what can happen if you ignore a wrenched claw, Sweetpaw. It becomes a pain when you're hunting or fighting, and it doesn't retract all the way. However, if you want to ignore it, fine." That said, he glanced towards the Sunclan border, his thick tail swaying lazily from side to side. "You guys were planning this hunt long before I came over here, so you're in charge. I want to watch and see how you do, if you don't mind. So, we'll leave when you're ready."

The apprentice's ears flattened against her skull, and the ginger and white she-cat nodded. She didn't want to end up like that. But couldn't it wait? "Hawkclaw, can I go after we've gone hunting? Please?" She asked, feeling a little nervous around the warrior. After all, he was a lot older than her, but she really wanted to hunt for the Clan first. She didn't mind a little pain.

Hawkclaw smirked and dipped his head to the apprentice. "Sure, let's go hunting first. Maybe I'll be able to help once we get out of camp, that way no one else has to know you're hurt. All I'll have to do is straighten it and tie it so it'll stay that way." He shrugged before making his way out of camp, his long, thick tail swaying. "Well, Pinepaw and Sweetpaw, lead the way."

This was a little wierd. Leading a patrol with one of her denmates and a warrior. Still, he could sort out wrenched claw without anyone else having to know. So she apprentice dipped her head to Hawkclaw and lead the way out of camp, her tail and head held high. Might as well be confident.

Shadowcreek sniffed the air, looking for the ground squirrel Phantomrose had caught earlier “Where did I put it?” he said, turning his head side-to-side, then catching the faint scent of it. He bounded toward the scent just in time to see the dead ground squirrel get carried away by a crow. “Fox dung!” he growled leaping after it just barely missing it.
A little ways away Phantomrose sat looking at her reflection in a small creek, as she watched her reflection a very small fish leapt through it. She slapped the water before she slowly walked in. The water was still cold from leaf-bare, but that didn’t seem to faze her, but it did seem to cool her temper.
