Ohhh XD I had the feeling it'd been posted before but I wasn't sure, haha!
And yeah, the shading is the very light gray just above the dark markings, sorta like on this KISS:

Where it has the gray under it's belly.

I've noticed several GUPPS dogs have different eye colours from their PPS forms: the Swirl Valentine pup's eyes are light purple while the adult's are pink, the Panda pup has near-white eyes while the adult has purple, the Okapi pup has blue-grey eyes and the adult has gold eyes, and the Coraline PPS has dark eyes with tiny specks of red while the adult's are entirely bright red (like its adult Non-Button sibling's). Considering that the GUPPS dogs are quite faithful reproductions of the PPS forms otherwise, it seems odd that the eyes are so variable - four out of fourteen GUPPS have different eye colours from the PPS. So far the difference in the KISS GUPPS' markings is the only significant marking difference I've noticed.

I think the panda was pretty good, if you look closely at the eyes of the PPS, they're very pale purple - they simply darkened as they got older. I think the Coraline PPS was supposed to have red eyes when it was a pup, it's just hard to see as the angle doesn't show off the eyes.

The yellow parts of his muzzle and mane make up a toxic symbol just like the one on his rump. C:

It's because the adult and pup linearts have different highlights and such on the eyes so the colors come out a bit differently a lot of the time.
