Nickname :: Loki
Age :: 2 Years || 30 Months
Gender :: Female
Personality :: Loki is a very bright dog. She is very perky and has sure footing in the way she walks. She holds her head high with a cheery glow, keeping a hop in her step and a friendly light in her eyes. She knows what she wants and kind of just goes with what happens. She's one of those types of dogs who can be alone or in a group and she wouldn't care. Her creativity helps her find things to do on her own.
All those things however, come with knowing her for a while. Upon first meeting, she is shy, protective, and defensive. First impressions are also everything to her. It helps her weigh others upon their actions, leaving her careful where she places her paws with dogs she doesn't know.
When it comes to close family and friends, nothing will stop her from protecting them except ending her life. She is willing to snap bone and bloody her paws for the safety of her loved ones. She'll fight tooth and claw to ensure they aren't injured. Of course, currently, she has no one to fight for but herself.
When lingering in the past, Loki is very quiet. Usually, she isn't one to hold onto the scratches on her pelt, but she keeps the scarring wounds at the edge of her consciousness so she doesn't make the same mistakes that had cost her greatly the first time. If faced with a new wound, she suffers in silence, fearing others will climb through her crumbling wall before its rebuilt and cut the wound deeper.
Some of Loki's most charming features can be her stubborn, resolute ways. She's never willing to back down and gets what she needs done correctly, the first time. She hates it when her work isn't done to others content and if she doesn't get it right the first time, then she'll keep trying until she does.
320 words;1715 charactersHistory :: Born to an Icelandic breeder, Loki had high expectations from the moment she took her first breath. Her father was a strict dog, wanting his offspring to be disciplined and hard working. He expected nothing below that, which for a couple of pups who've hardly learned their steps, was too much to handle. In her early weeks, she had learned that speed and agility were everything if she were to survive in snow taller then her head in the winter.
After being weaned, Loki was sold to a shepherd, becoming the first worker in the name of his and his wife, who was with child at the time. She had worked hard, like her father taught her, while her sister had been shipped off to America, and her brother sold to an old woman as a guard dog.
After the wife of Loki's owner had her child, she spent every free hour she had with him. The little boy she gaurded was named Gier. Though she hadn't had pups, she developed protective maternal instinct.
When Gier was a few months old, his mother passed away, driving Loki's owner to buy two more herding dogs and keeping her around his son. She was half a year old then.
At the age of 1 1/2, her shepherd couldn't keep his farm running, so he sold it, usuing the money to move to America with his family. There he could gain help with raising his child. He packed up his things, three dogs included, and shipped them off with him to 'A country of freedom' as told by his greying parents.
When getting to America, he was forced to give up Loki and her two other loving companions. He sold one of his males to a young man with three children, his other male to a puppy mill taking advantage of his inability to understand a lot of english, and last, his beloved Loki. He held onto her for a few more months, then he sold her to an eldery couple who had been searching for a gentle beast like her. She lived happily with them for a couple of months before the old man, George, lost his life to the widow maker. He had been a two time cancer survivor, but sadly lost his third battle. His wife, Elena, who was of hispanic heritage, was unable to care for Loki. She gave her up to a shelter, who rehomed her to a man careless of his dogs. He abandon her in on a road side during the day. That was her last owner.
