NyanMom wrote:ok, this irks me a little bit. A very good friend of my daughters', she's actually sort of part of the family considering she lives right down the road from us and is with my daughters constantly, recently joined ChickenSmoothie. Because she's dyslexic and reading is a challenge to her my two girls and myself told her we'd help her out with any trading and just sort of make sure nobody takes advantage of her. A day or two after she joined she got a trade from someone giving her free pets with the following message:
Welcome to Chicken Smoothie! If you need anything, just ask me.
I also suggest making Trading rules, or people may take advanyage of you.
And, of course, being a naive and very friendly kind of person, she now thinks this person is someone she can trust since she's given her free pets AND advised her to watch out for people who may take advantage of her.
This "helpful" person then proceeds to send my daughters' friend the following trades that she accepts thinking she can trust this person. >:(

This has me so steamed my ears are burning! That this person would blatantly lie to and con someone who's a brand new member out of her pets! I know they're only pixels. The loss of the pets isn't what bothers me about this. The pets weren't anything super valuable and I can just replace the lost pets for in a second if she wants them. It's the horribly dishonest and greedy behavior behind it that makes me so mad.
When Destiny came up to our house the following morning she was so excited and couldn't wait to get on the computer and show me her first few trades she'd done all on her own. I am so mad just thinking back to how hurt she was when she realized she's been taken advantage of.
The person who did this knows who they are and that's enough. Karma has a way of coming back around and biting you in the butt. There's no need for revenge. Those who do wrong get what they deserve in the end. This is the only consolation I need.
Hmm... scamming is wrong (and should be reported), though I am a bit curious though because the trade says successful trade that "I" sent, not that they sent it... It sounds to me they WERE being helpful, but thought maybe the trades were gifts? It would've been scamming if person had sent the trade first and had said something along the lines of "this is fair", when it's obviously not. I'd suggest linking
this to your daughter's friend, but if they need help, I myself would be happy to help. :]
And as for my trade rant for the day:
Honestly? It kind of irks me that people rant about getting trades for their candy. Just lock your items, guys. Plus, there's... honestly know "value" to the candy, it's all demand to get more pets. Some people just need to realize that this hunt will last two weeks. Personally, I'm saving up all my candy until the end. After the hunt, there will be PLENTY of Halloween pets for trade. Remember the Medieval Faire? Everyone thought the burnt dog would be rare, but it turns out it was SUPER easy to get. I just... I think people shouldn't really rant about getting trades to their candy. e_e I put in my rules that they're not for trades, I still get trades for them, but I mean... I'm not about to rant about that (aside from not reading my rules), but I could just lock my items. *shrug*
