Coraline didn't howl back, she was focused on keeping the pups safe. She kept digging at the den floor, kicking dirt up to keep the males away and from digging away at the den. She realized she couldn't keep this up and desperation began to sink in... She was viper surrounded by meerkats... She could hiss and spit all she wanted but she was in a bad situation. She shook the thought though, she wasn't going to abandon the pups, Triant would never forgive her... she snarled, backing from the entrance as it got bigger with the digging males... She stood over the small pups who were whimpering and whining for their mother. She sighed once and waited for the males to get in.

Triant/Alpha/Red Howlers

~If you can't take the heat, leave my sights or have your throat torn out

Triant looked around when he didn't hear and answer and snarled, racing after her scent which not surprisingly hadn't faded yet. Aurora's faint paw steps were trotting after him at a slow pace, she wanted to help but it was going to get her killed. Triant didn't see a point in arguing so he kept running, he heard the noise before he saw it. Several males fighting their way into Coraline's hiding spot, he snarled and leaped for the smallest one that was almost halfway into the den. His claws dug into the animals back and pulled him out angrily. The males eyes were wide and he struggled to get away but Triant wasn't having that. He slashed his thrat and face then threw him away like trash letting him bleed out. The rest abandoned their efforts to get Coraline and to attack Triant, he swiped out at them and Aurora snuck up from behind clawing their backs and sending them into caos. They didn't know where to turn and Triant took this as a chance to attack the next weakest one.

Phoenix whimpered and squirmed in the elk skin pouch. The red pup snorted and tried to get out but couldn't. He was scared and he wanted his mama. The little guy was terrified and was fruit to get away, knowing he'd probably get killed if he stayed. He looked like a fox, but he really wasn't. He didn't have the black feet that foxes have, nor did he have the white tip on his tail, his was black.

"If you want to get out alive... Run for your life." Coraline repeated without knowing... Then Triant came... One male was able to sneak his way into the den and Coraline snarled, attacking him and pinning him while tearing at his chest and throat, loud yelps were heard from the den... But Coraline was the cause... Not the yelper. Coraline had mercilessly ripped the male apart, almost as bad as she had when she attacked the male who killed her sister. The male was a bloody mess, a look of shock still on his dead face. She backed away from the body, blood was splattered on her pelt, but she stood over the pups while facing the front of the den to make sure none came in. If they did and she went out to help, the pups would be killed... She turned to the pup that was squirming and said, "Ssshh.. Calm down... It won't be much longer till it's all over." She turned back tot he entrance, determined to keep the pups alive.

Phoenix quieted down for a bit, Coraline sounded a lot like his mother. He was quiet until he heard a loud growl and a bark, the he began to civet and whimper again. The small, yet chubby male was wedged in between his litter mates so it made it harder to get out. He gave up and sunk back down in the elx skin, hiding.

Triant heard the disgusting sound of a wolf being slaughtered, he grimaced and let a few of the wolves run for their lives. The other three he and Aurora left in the snow to die, he shook his bitten and clawed coat before sticking his head into the hole and sighing at the scene. Blood was everywhere including on Cora the pups shivered with fear but were alright. "Cora... are you alright" he asked worriedly. Aurora was anxiously waiting for the news on her pups outside, she sat in the snow and watched Triant.
