Alex smiled and brought his arm back. He crossed his arms and leaned back in his chair and all of a sudden the chair fell backwards. He helped before going into a laughing fit.

Bella grew serious again. “But, um . . .” She gnawed her lip. “You think I’m pretty, apparently.”

Alex'a head poked up from where he sat on the floor. "well yeah" Alex said with a shrug. At the moment he looked like a little kid wanting desert but couldn't reach it cause he was too short compared the table.

Bella smiled, watching his uncomfortableness.

"you are pretty" Alex finally said with a weak tiny smile to her. So much for the boost of confidence he had himself.
