Emeraldstar looked at Fernpaw, her eyes sharp. "Kittypet, loner, rouge, or Dawnclan?" The name of the other clan was a little softer. She had always had a soft spot for Dawnclan, for on of them saved her as a kit, when she had escaped from camp and was drowning in a river.

Waterpaw was racing as fast as her legs could carry her, sending up the leaves on the forest floor. Her muscles burred from lack of oxygen, and her sides were heaving in exhaustion. But she didn't stop. She paid attention to her surroundings. From a distance, she spotted the Duskclan boarder. She raced onto the territory, and kept running until she spotted a camp. "A- a fox- is on- the territory!" she gasped.

"Dawnclan," Fernpaw replied a second before Waterpaw burst out in front of them. "A fox?!" she cried. "Wait!" she called to the unknown apprentice. "Wait! We're right here!"

Waterpaw turned around and stood, facing Fernpaw, her sides heaving. "I-I'm from Dawnclan," she stuttered. "There was a fox on the territory. It attacked one of the warriors. It might be coming here," she finished. She sat down, exhausted.

Fernpaw looked at her mentor and leader, worried and waiting for instruction.

Koisplash sat in the nursery, dozing off lightly. She smiled when a slight spasm shot through her. She would be having her kits anyday now. She purred with delight.

Fernpaw looked at her mentor and almost smiled. A journey? To Dawnclan's camp? How exciting. Fernpaw happily followed the others.
