Life of a teenage were-wolf

Kia sat at her desk, doing her home work. She passed her fingers through her thick black hair, ugh.... I hate math... She tapped her pencil against the desk, like she always did when she was thinking. Kia looked outside, it was almost sunset. I think I'll go for a walk... She just didn't have enough concentration for home work right now. "Mom! I'm going for a walk!" she called as she rushed down the stairs "Did you finish your home work?" her mom asked, "um.... yah!" Kia lied. It was drizzling faintly as she stepped outside, but she didn't care. She ran into the dense forest, feeling free, well free from homework that is. She stopped and thought for a moment, she smiled mischievously. "time to change things up a bit." she said to herself. Closing her eyes, Kia let out a deep breath. Wolf... wolf... wolf... WOLF! She felt her skin start tingling, black fur started growing on her arms and legs.It started spreading to her whole body, her hands and feet turned into paws. Then her nails turned into claws and her teeth sharpened into canines. Her face lengthened into a muzzle and wolf ears popped out from the top of her head, and finally she grew a white-tipped wolf tail. Now, instead of a teenage girl, stood a black wolf with gleaming green eyes. "That's better..."

Kia looked over her shoulder and swished white-tipped tail. She began running, dodging trees and thorn bushes. Half dead leaves flew up in the wake behind her as she sped threw the woods. The trees began thinning out as she got closer to the edge of the forest, she took a tremendous leap and landed right on the edge of trees. She was breathing heavily, staring at the beautiful world in front of her. She crept to the edge of the cliff and stared. The grassy landscape stretched out as far as the eye could see with gray mountains in the distance. A lake sat in the middle with a river that lead from the lake into the beyond. There were a few scattered trees in the area, with willows leaning over the lake. But what really caught Kia's attention was the elk.... and the creatures that were stalking the elk. "Wolves...." she breathed.

Kia stared at the wolf pack down below, not daring to breath. She couldn't see them clearly from here but they were still magnificent. She watched as two wolves crept in a wide circle till the blocked the lone elk's escape root, they crouched in waiting. The rest started to spread out, surrounding it. Kia leaned forward in anticipation, her ears pricked forward. After what seemed like a year, the lead wolf barked sharply and lunged. There was an explosion of sound as the wolves barked and snarled, tearing at the elk's thick skin. The elk bellowed and kicked out with its hind legs, but the wolves kept tearing and scratching. The elk broke free and was chased, but an extra three wolves appeared from the bushes, ambushing it. It was caught again and after about 30 minutes of struggle, the lead wolf lunged and grasped its throat. Then finally, the elk fell........

Kia resisted the urge to go down there and join them. she looked up, it was sunset, time to go home. She turned around, and with one last, longing look at the wolves, she ran off. Her paws pounded the ground as she sped back home. Kia leaped over a fallen log and stopped, she saw her backyard up ahead. She quickly morphed behind a bush and walked out of the forest as a teenager. She sighed "Ok.... Now i have to finish my home work........

Kia sat on the bus with her friend: Lauren. Lauren and Kia had known each other since preschool, they were like sisters. Lauren had straight blond hair (shoulder length), was wearing a purple t-shirt, and had bright blue eyes. Lauren was also the only person who knew Kia was a were-wolf.
"Guess what!" Kia whispered excitedly. "what?" "I found a awesome place in the woods, it has wolves, elk, and other stuff. "thats awesome Kia! you have to show me one day"
The bus screeched as it stopped at another bus stop, "Get ready...." muttered Lauren. This was where Julie and her clique got on. Julie was a mean, shallow, popular girl who enjoying picking on Kia, Lauren, and other kids. Another annoying thing, is that she GETS WHATEVER SHE WANTS. Julie got on the bus, hips swaying, blond hair shining, and a "im better than you" look on her face. She and her followers sat in the seats behind them, flirting with the popular guys and gossiping with her friends. Kia and Lauren sunk in their seats hoping not to be noticed.

"Hey Lauren! hey Kia!" The to friends looked at each other with looks of suffering. Julie switched into the seat behind them. "You know the dance is next Friday, do guys have dates?" Kia opened her mouth to respond, but Julie interrupted. "Of course you don't! Silly me, I should have known you two are way too ugly and nerdy for a boy to ask you out." She switched back to her seat with a smug look on her face, all the other students stared at Lauren and Kia. Anger welled up inside Kia, how dare Julie humiliate them in front of everyone on the bus. Her brown eyes changed to bright green wolf eyes, Lauren placed her hand on Kia's shoulder. "Calm down..." she whispered, Kia whipped around and stared at Lauren so intensely that Lauren backed away. Kia closed her eyes and breathed deeply and opened them again, they were brown again. "Sorry.... Its just she makes me so mad!" she muttered. Lauren sighed, the bus screeched to a halt and everyone started getting off. Julie swaggered off with her clique following close behind, Kia scowled. "Don't we have an assembly?" asked Lauren. "Great...... two hours of brain-numbing lectures...." she muttered. Then she froze, up ahead was the cutest guy in the school, Jay. He was in Kia's grade, he had brown hair that fell over his eyes, and amazing green eyes. He was sweet, kind, funny, not at all like most popular kids in the grade. But that was the problem, he was popular, he would never notice a girl like me. Also he had a girlfriend: Julie. Kia sighed and walked to the auditorium.

Kia walked out of the auditorium, "that was so boring I think I'm going to barf..." she said to Lauren. Lauren puffed her cheeks as if she was about to throw up. They both laughed, the split up and headed to different hallways. Kia looked up at a banner that said something about the dance when she felt someone crash into her. She fell on the floor and her books scattered everywhere, "Hey! watch where your...." she looked up and saw Jay looking down at her in surprise. "Oh sorry!" He leaned down and picked up her books, then helped her up. "thanks" she said as he handed her the books, their fingertips brushed and Kia looked up at him. He smiled for a split second then walked away. She sighed and walked to class, he'd never like a girl like me.... she told herself
