Will lifted the girl, and he glared at Giovanni.
"That was idiotic, especially with nine other Barons in the room," He growled, and started for the medical ward.
However, he was impressed with the girl. She hadn't screamed or paniced, she simply reacted calmly.

Horace rolled his eyes.
"We could send you to Skandia as a slave for that!" He snapped, and he stepped back, but didn't sheath the sword.

Giovanni blinked several times. Skandia. As a slave. His parents would skin them alive for that. The pain in his eye had lessened. At least she had chosen his blind eye to jab.
He yelled after the Ranger, "You should keep your little girls at home where they belong! Learning to cook!" This was unfair, he knew, because many assassins were women too. But it was insulting.

She writhed in Will's grasp, and finally managed to look back at the assassin. She would remember him, for a long, long time. She turned her attention back to Will. Ranger's were supposed to be involved with "black magic".

Giovanni saw the girl's look and thought, You're not that easy to forget either. And he saw her fear. "Why is she so scared of him?" he asked the warrior, edging away from him.

Horace grinned.
"Oh, there's many things about him that you should be afraid of too," He said quietly, and he continued to grin. "If you had a suit of armor on, he could shoot you inbetween the eyes in the tiniest crack of the face guard," He added.

Will looked down on her, and his brown eyes gleamed worriedly under the cowl of his cloak.
"Try not to move, your bleeding badly," He said, and entered the medical bay, which luckily wasn't too far from the Baron's office.
A nurse hurried over to tend to her as he set her down on a berth.

She stilled at his words, but didn't stop staring at him. He scared her, more than the assassin did.

"Hmm," he muttered. "Interesting. Be nice to find the rest of his group. There's a lot we could learn from each other." Temperamental killer? Yes. Stupid? Only sometimes.

Horace sighed and lowered the sword.
"It would be rare to find one just out and about," He said,

Will sat in the chair next to the berth and he gave her a small smile.
"That was pretty smart, poking him in the eye like that." He commented.

She shrugged, and winced. "He''s just like a bully in the ward..." She stated softly.

Giovanni snuck after the Ranger. He knew it was a stupid move, but since when had common sense ever answered a question? He heard the last remark.
"Yeah," he agreed. "Would have worked better if I weren't already half blind. Bully in the ward? Do I look like a ward child?" If she wasn't careful, he would kill her, Ranger or no Ranger.
